This hotel exceeded all our expectations. I rarely write reviews, but this place and this wonderful staff deserve it. It was beautifully decorated with great attention to detail - even having gorgeous fresh flowers in our room! The staff was exceptionally kind and helpful in every way. They shared recommendations with us within Lecce, all of which were real gems. They even helped us to decide what to do for our day trips, giving wonderful recommendations for a walk/hike in Otranto and a fantastic restaurant there. The breakfast was truly fantastic with everything you could hope for and more - I was excited to wake up each morning and enjoy their breakfast! The room itself was very comfortable - the bed was certainly the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. The private patio attached to the room was also lovely.

I travel a lot and I am very picky in the places where I stay. This location has been very satisfying. I was staying in another hotel but I had to leave there immediately. I drove to Lecce and halfway I booked Palazzo Bignami (30 minutes before arriving), solely based on the great reviews. I texted with Liana about my arrival and 30 minutes later I was greeted by her. Liana and Enzo, the couple who own the B&B, are so kind. They have a background in interior design and this is noticeable in the B&B. Spaces and rooms are decorated with such detail, every time you look somewhere, you will see something new. The B&B is very clean! I think hygiene is important and I was very satisfied. The bed felt new, the bed linnen felt new, the floors and furniture were clean. My compliments! The rooms are large, so are the sizes of the beds. For Italian standards, the shower cabinet is of a large size, which is great. The sun blinds in front of the window make minimal noise when you put them up or down, which is nice when you are trying to sleep and your neighbour uses them. You will hear nothing. Lastly, the street is very quiet, so you have a great sleep! The breakfast is of a high standard. Lots of products to choose from and a great cup of coffee. The location is great. It is 100 meters located outside of the old city centre, which puts you in a place of tranquility but with a short walk in Lecce’s buzzing city centre. It is also a 5 minute walk from the train station. Parking is free in front of the B&B. Lastly, you should ask Liana and Enzo for tips in the region. Enzo gave me the tip of driving on the east coast from north to south, as this coastal road is beautiful. Well, beautiful is an understatement as it was breathtaking. Liana and Enzo will give you great tips. I am going to visit Lecce again and I will definitely stay at Palazzo Bignami again. Best stay ever.

Beautiful and spotless apartment, with lots of little extras like tea and coffee machine, safe, toiletries, extra pillows and a separate dressing area. Perfect location, no more than a 5 - 10 minute stroll to everything we wanted to see and do. Our room was upgraded because a better room was available (which was very very generous!). The room was 1st floor, accessed by a lift and had two balconies! There was a cleaning service alternate days and the host was really responsive via WhatsApp if we needed anything. With the windows open, the noise of the restaurant in the square below was fairly loud but the glazing was great and we heard nothing with them closed. Air con worked though took a long time to cool the space.
