This was the place I liked the most during my entire 2 months stay in Japan. This was the place I felt most welcomed and taken care of. This was the place I had the opportunity to witness the best omotenashi I had in Japan. I stayed for three nights during snowy winter at Shiroganeya and could easily stay longer. Maki and her mother paid attention to every detail. Very convenient area to use as a base for exploring the area, delicious food prepared by Maki's mother, lovely atmosphere, beautiful and traditional house full of family history. I highly recommend people staying here for exploring Togakushi area. I will definitely come back and staying again. I hope next time during autumn. Thank you very much Maki!

This hotel is quite close to the Nagano Station. The price is cheap for the level accommodation and the room is quite vast. Definitely the best hotel yet I've stayed during my time in Japan.

Loved our stay at Hotel Metropolitan Nagano. Perfect location with everything at walking distance. Staff were really friendly. They even helped us with our baggage transfer to the next hotel. Would recommend them to anyone visiting Nagano.

The hotel itself was traditional Japanese style, the futons were comfortable and the staff was kind and and helpful. The Onsen is amazing and the sake bar was a very nice touch to complete a great stay

The breakfast was buffet style, and it was really good. They have a free shuttle service for the snow monkey park. I went to the park the last day of my stay, and they came to pick me up at the park at 11:00, which is after the check-out time which is 10:00, and they even drove me to the train station afterwards. I could leave my baggage in the lobby while staying at the park. The onsen at the hotel is really nice with both an indoor and an outdoor bath. The onsen was open for use from 13:00 to 09:00 the next day as I can remember. The staff was really nice and helpful.

The room was larger than we had expected and the views we had were spectacular. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The dinner we ordered from the hotel was excellent. I used the bath facilities and, again, was wowed by the view from the outdoor bath. We would absolutely love to stay here again.

The onsen and all facilities are great. The food is very good, as the hotel offers traditional japanese breakfast and dinner. The hotel offers transfers to the station, monkey park and ski resort which are useful.

Return to this same resort at Myoko after 2 years. What I like : 1. Near to several ski resorts 2. Provides transport to train station, to ski resorts, to dinner place 3. Onsen 4. Big Japanese room for 2 person (can fit 4) 5. Simple breakfast (new owners setting up). Kind of miss the Japanese type breakfast two year ago. 6. Can do dinner at resort 7. Nice drying and locker room for snow gears. 8. Quiet place for good night rest. 9. Discount lift tickets to Alpen Blick Ski resort that is few minutes away. New owners should run in the resort well this season and improve on the next season.
