Overlooking Matera’s Sasso Barisano, Fra I Sassi Residence is set in restored 17th-century buildings inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site area. Beautiful location right in the heart of Matera. Easy to walk to shops/restaurants/city square. The front desk staff was incredibly kind and helpful to recommend restaurants, and even booked us a reservation. The room was very clean and well-kept. Breakfast was well done and included cuisine from multiple countries.

Hotel Martino offers stunning views over the Policastro Gulf, a heated indoor pool, and free lobby Wi-Fi. The seaside and the private beach are a 10 minute's walk away. Parking is free. What a gem of a hotel. It has wonderful facilities, a gorgeous indoor rim pool and lovely patios that look out at stunning views of the Maratea coast. Our room was very spacious, had wonderful air conditioning, a nice sized bathroom, and a small fridge. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere so we had our dinners at the on-site restaurant, which is reasonably priced and serves great food. There’s not much to do in the area except relax at the pool or the beach, so we did the James Bond Kayaking tour with Enrico, which was fantastic and such fun and very good value for money. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Emilio is an exceptional great host. My boyfriend and I had a one-night stay in Palazzo Badiale on our way to Puglia and could have easily stayed longer. The nature surrounding the property is just beautiful and we enjoyed exploring it even more on our morning run. The breakfast in the morning in Emilios’s bakery is 10/10 and gave us the perfect taste of Italien delicates. I highly recommend staying here, also for longe periods when you want to unplug and relax.
