Matera is a very challenging place to park, but we got great advanced information and a very convenient shuttle. The cave room is perfection. It is large and comfortable with a front patio area that contains a small table and chairs to admire the incredible view.

Featuring a bar, Vetera Matera is located in Matera in the Basilicata region, 500 metres from Palombaro Lungo and 300 metres from Matera Cathedral. We absolutely loved our stay at Vetera Matera. We had a very late arrival, around 11pm, and the staff were beyond accomodating. Our transfer shuttle met us at the packing garage and the communication was seemless. Giovanni was at reception upon check in, and was an absolute delight. Francesco was also very helpful, with wine and snacks ready when requested even at such a late arrvial time. Both were so proud of the hotel and the area, full of great tips and lots of history about the hotel and the area. Our room was amazing, we had a terrace which was so great to see the view late at night. The breakfast was lovely too, and we were sad we were only there for one night! Can not recommend this hotel enough. A great location to discover the town, with the friendliest of staff! (Fillipe who carried our bags up and down those stairs and drove us back to our car was amazing as well).

Spazio Gagarin Residence is situated in Matera, 1.3 km from Casa Grotta nei Sassi and less than 1 km from Tramontano Castle. This 3-star hotel offers a concierge service and luggage storage space. Amazing!!!! less than 10 minutes walk from the very center of Matera (and what a city!!!!! ) in a quite área, the facilities are just amazing. I do not know who were the architect but turning the place in a comfortable, amazingly beautiful place is something. Pietro, our host, was not only a host. He was a friendly face, someone I would like to call family. Pietro, thanks a lot for everything. The best wishes and great success to you. Situated in Atella and with National Archaeological Museum reachable within 39 km, Palazzo Badiale history&rooms features express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi... Emilio is an exceptional great host. My boyfriend and I had a one-night stay in Palazzo Badiale on our way to Puglia and could have easily stayed longer. The nature surrounding the property is just beautiful and we enjoyed exploring it even more on our morning run. The breakfast in the morning in Emilios’s bakery is 10/10 and gave us the perfect taste of Italien delicates. I highly recommend staying here, also for longe periods when you want to unplug and relax.

LITHOS ROOMs, a property with a shared lounge, is set in Matera, 1.1 km from Matera Cathedral, less than 1 km from MUSMA Museum, as well as a 15-minute walk from Tramontano Castle. Great place, nice and cosy, good and plenty breakfast. Location very close to the center with a breath taking view right a cross the street. Thank you Lithos staff for making our stay wonderful.

Featuring a bar and views of city, Dimora Del Corso is a guest house situated in a historic building in Rotonda, 48 km from La Secca di Castrocucco. Property was extremely clean and beautifully restored. Staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and helped with suggestions for dinner and hiking options in the park.

A small and charming hotel in an unbeatable central location. The staff were exceptionally helpful—especially warm and welcoming throughout our stay. The rooms were well-appointed and quiet, ensuring a restful night. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options, and the lady serving was incredibly kind and attentive. The rooftop terrace was the perfect spot to enjoy an aperitivo at sunset. Highly recommended, truly top-notch.
