It is a wonderful and relaxing environment and allows you to enjoy the best onsen experience. The hotel staff organised the shuttle bus for us even though it passed 6pm to ensure we made it to our dinner reservation. The food provided was 10/10, possibly one of the best meals we had in Japan ! And I forgot an item when I left the hotel, the staff just mailed it to my next hotel within the next day. Will definitely come back!

The facilities were excellent. An Onsen was a two minute walk and a train station was 5 - 10 minutes. A lake was nearby and the local area was very pleasant. Access went well.

Located in Otsu, 12 km from Daigo-ji Temple and 13 km from Shoren-in Temple, guest house AN offers a garden and air conditioning. I liked absolutely everything!!! Hosts are very welcoming, very kind and attentive. You have a whole Japanese style house for yourself. You can rent bicycles for a small fee. Close to the station and in a middle of residential area with beautiful Japanese houses and gardens. I saw some people complained in their comments about long introduction to the rules, but for us it was very nice too. After you learn what and how, you feel more relaxed and can fully enjoy. If I had such a house where many elements are made from wood, had tatami etc- I would also like to explain my guests how to use it. We also had breakfasts that were exquisite for a very fair price. Our hosts made us feel like at home and also made many recommendations what to visit around. I am grateful I could be welcomed in such a way and I am sorry I could not stay longer. This is definitely a place where you can stay for a longer period, visit Kyoto (30 mins by train), cycle around the lake and further, play tennis in a park nearby. All that for very nice price:)

Location and room space. Convenient shuttle bus from the JR station. The stuff are very professional and warm. You can send big luggage to Kyoto station and travel more easily.

KAMENOI HOTEL Hikone provides a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 2.7 km of Hikone Castle and 6 km of Maibara Station. Amazing food, pleasant staff and great onsen. Frequent shuttles to and from train station was a plus.

Set in Nagahama, 13 km from Hikone Castle, Kitabiwako Hotel Grazie offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a restaurant. Everything! It was all amazing! The location is right at Biwako, the view from the room is gorgeous, the cruise next to the hotel, the train station about 10 minutes away, the castle and park close by... The staff is so polite, efficient and friendly. I can't think of anything negative (and I am trying)...
