All staff were professional and friendly and went out of their way to provide the best experience ever! We fell in love with the adorable Kiki the local hotel dog. Franzi was incredible and added a personal touch to your stay and always had a smile on her face. I have stayed in many hotels over my years of traveling and this hotel is simply THE BEST!

Our stay was great! Everything went smoothly, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The breakfasts were varied. The place is quiet, and we had no disturbances at night. The shower room with an open roof was a unique experience. We highly recommend this place for its comfort and peaceful atmosphere!

The Merchant features a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Galle. Everything. Location was just perfect. Staff super nice. Food great. Bed and pillow were simply epic. I love this place.

Ransi was the perfect host. Location is handy for jungle beach and Unawatuna ‘village’ where most of the restaurants and shops are. Room was spacious and clean and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. I loved the pool too!

This is one of our favourite hotels in Sri Lanka. The layout of the gardens, between the sea and the lagoon, is magnificent. Geoffrey Bawa chose this spot very carefully and the new wings have been integrated well. Even if there are many guests, you can still retain a certain privacy because the grounds are so extensive. We particularly enjoyed a curated tour by Sanduni de Fonseka who has specialised in the work of the Bawa brothers and the art works on display - by, amongst others, Laki Senanayake and Barbara Sansoni. High-quality food. We have been to this hotel several times, and our overall experience, as always, was excellent.

Offering a rooftop with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and an infinity pool, Agnus Unawatuna - Unawatuna is situated in Unawatuna, less than 1 km from Japanese Peace Pagoda. Location was great, overlooking Galle, Jungle Beach and the ocean. Rooms were comfortable with plenty of space. Meals were great, with an inhouse restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. They also serve drinks, and you can choose to sit inside or out on the balcony.
