This family run guest house has everything we look for when travelling. Located just off the main road on a small alley, it's within a stones throw to restaurants, bars and a few corner stores. Everything is well maintained and immaculately clean. The rooms are comfortable with air con and wifi. The included breakfast included a perfectly cooked omlete, fruit plater, toast and tea/coffee. During a three week trip in Sri Lanka, I stayed in properties with at least 9 rating on booking.com. This was easily the best of these, which means it was very good. The apartment is a luxury condo with a great view, something like this would be $400 a night on Miami Beach. And it has all the right touches and amenities to be up to top Western standards. The service by Camilas is better than what you get in a 5-star Western hotel, for example I was worried about an airport transfer in the middle of the night, so he drove me himself in his own car as a courtesy. That's just his level of thoughtful service. This is the best of the best for my trip in Sri Lanka.

Located within 700 metres of Negombo Beach and 3.6 km of St Anthony's Church, Bee Nest Bed & Breakfast features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Negombo. Hosts, Buddi and family, were amazing. They kindly stayed up late to welcome us on arrival and helped us arrange transport to Kandy the following morning. The rooms were comfortable and clean with a lovely common area. (We only stayed one night so didn’t get to explore the surrounding area.)

Run by a local family, Villa Shade is a charming and peaceful property surrounded by green gardens, just 4 km from Negombo City. Beautiful garden with home grown fruits, the staff is out of his way to assist, the room is perfect and the swimming pool is an amazing treat! Great breakfast and very quiet, calm vibes. We wish we could stay longer.
