The cottage is owned by a formal army soldier. The amenities are what you expect in a remote cottage with no electrical lines. It's the same for every cottage in Lukung. The generators run only from 7pm to 10:30 pm and you should come to Pangong tso for the views and adventure and stay away if you are seeking comfort. Also, you will be dying for oxygen if the generators run all night or if you have heaters in your room. I'd rather stay alive than just be comfortable. In terms of the cottage and host, Thinley is one of the nicest people I have met on my trip. He made Kadha for my cousin when he had a cold and fed us chai at all times of the day. He made food 3 times a day and it was pretty decent imo. The rooms are basic with a comfortable and warm bed but the prices are more than competitive compared to other cottages and it's totally worth it. I would stay in Thinley's cottage next time I come to Pangong and decide to stay in Lukung.

Amazing stay again at Blue Chill Cottage…. This is the third time I visited… no doubt will go again. Mr Tashi is very approachable and helpful. The staff is just too good, they will take care of all your small needs like hot water, hot water bottles at night… I liked the attitude with which the staff works… always smiling. Rooms are spacious and clean. Washroom is also well maintained. Buffet is limited but tastes good. Ample parking for vehicle and also driver can stay. Keep up the wonderful job you guys are doing 👍

    A great stay at Pangong Lake with a very friendly and nice host. The common area / kitchen is really nice and gives you a feeling for the Ladakh way of living. Would 100% recommend to stay here during Pangong Lake visit.

    as i don't go often to homestays, i don't really know how to rate it ??? we went there in april and it's cold for europeans at this period. For the ladaki not as they live by -35 to -50 ! they keep the doors open even by -5 ! we were frozen ! i think the homestay is the standard in Ladakh. The owner's sun was very kind and helpfull !

    Amazing location and the host is very kind nd helpful. He also prepared some really amazing Ladaki food for us during the stay. Loved it! No WiFi and spotty network, a good way to completely disconnect.

    It was a freezing winter at Pangong but the homestay was the most coziest I could have dreamnt of. Wonderful hosts and wonderful hospitality. Truly Enjoyed the experience.

    Loved the view of the lake, the host and family were very accommodating and made sure we settled in well, we were served delicious food and were warm in our rooms. Thanks to Nobu and his family, we enjoyed our stay and looking at stars in the night sky. There's very little to no light pollution here!
