Built in 1625, Ballygally Castle boasts original features and scenic views of Ballygally Bay. Set on the Antrim Coast, there is free parking, spacious rooms and a beautiful walled garden.

Said to be haunted, the 4-star Ballygally Castle Hotel has a Ghost Room and atmospheric dungeon. There is also a large garden and terrace, and a lounge with an open fire and antique furniture. We loved the riverside walk. Ducks with her ducklings, Robin, Wagtails (grey and pied varieties), Oystercatchers, Rooks, Blackbirds, Robin, Jackdaws, Rooks, Dunnock, Swallows - all during a half an hour’s walk.

On Great Victoria Street, beside the Grand Opera House, the luxury Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast offers boutique bedrooms with free Wi-Fi. There is a chic restaurant and modern cocktail bar. Valet parking is available for an additional cost. With an unbeatable location right in the centre of the city, this hotel is one of the first choices for travellers. It is situated in 5-7 minutes walking distance from the bus station and City Hall, and 10 minutes taxi drive to the Lanyon Place train station. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a little misunderstanding about the exact type of the room booked, and the issue has been solved in the most professional way. Our Signature View King room was relatively spacious, and offered the promised view over the city skyline. It was handy to have a couple of bottles of complimentary water and a Nespresso machine with tabs supply. The bed deserves an extra mention - it was extremely comfortable.
