Situated in Berastagi, 25 km from Mount Sinabung, Kaesa Homestay features accommodation with a garden and free private parking.

All units at the homestay are fitted with a seating area and a flat-screen TV. Featuring a private bathroom, some units at the homestay also feature a terrace. At the homestay, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. Our room was lovely, very clean and fresh. Breakfast was good, we tried the banana pancakes and fried noodles. The real standout of our stay was Kaesa, who was amazingly friendly and helpful. This may be the best homestay host I've ever met, so enthusiastic and happy to help with anything. He gave lots of advice and recommendations, from good prices to pay for fruit to how to ask for vegetarian food and what to expect on the hiking route. Would absolutely recommend!

TheJungleGuide - Lodges & Treks has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a shared lounge and restaurant in Bukit Lawang. Boasting room service, this property also provides guests with a water park. There is free private parking and the property features paid airport shuttle service.

Guests at the hotel will be able to enjoy activities in and around Bukit Lawang, like cycling. Comfy beds, sweet, friendly hosts/workers who were very accommodating, the huts are very cool looking (hammocks). It’s amazing they’re really in the jungle but still nearby where you wanna be. A good price for what you get. Washrooms are nice and clean. Everyone hangs out in the main shared area (restaurant area) and plays guitar and plays cards in the evening (but not too late, quiet hours are respected). During the rainy season, you can swim in the pools of the waterfall that is literally one second away from the lodge.

Located in Bukit Lawang, Rambai Tree Jungle Lodges - Family Friendly features a garden, terrace, massage services, and free WiFi throughout the property. The accommodation provides evening entertainment and room service. The owner helped us to arrange the guide and airport taxi before arrival! When we arrived, my friend was not feeling well so the owner managed to change the duration of the trek and suggest other activities. Also, she managed to extend the stay and we kept the same room (from 1 night to 4 nights). We were pleased with nice food and hospitality like delivering food or tea to our room! Our room was upgraded to the family room which was more accessible from the river. I highly recommend this place!

Set within 10 km of Siti Nurbaya Bridge and 47 km of Mount Talang, Mila Homestay offers rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Padang. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The bed and breakfast has family rooms. We found LOBLUS by chance and it was wonderful. The place is very cosy, the rooms very clean, good value for money, but the most important and the most remarkable is DILAH. She is the nicest, kindest and most dedicated person we have met in Indonesia. If you have a couple of days or more, she will make your experience as rewarding as possible. She will get you all the food and fruit you want for breakfast, and even if you want to see crocodiles, she will wait with you for 3 or 4 hours until they show up! Hahaha I would definitely recommend her a million times. If you want to do a tour in Sumatra, I recommend you to talk to her and spend at least one day there. She deserves everything and more. A friend for life. Thank you DILAH.

Asim Paris Guesthouse & jungle trekking has a garden, private beach area, a terrace and restaurant in Bukit Lawang. Boasting a concierge service, this property also provides guests with a barbecue. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi. Best place to stay in Bukit Lawang!! Beautiful location right on the river, surrounded by nature and beautiful views, a retreat from the busy-ness of town. It is only a short motorbike ride into town, and you can walk ~10 mins to get to an alfamart/indomaret. I did 2 days jungle trekking with Andi who was a great guide. We saw lots of orangutans and other wildlife, and he shared a lot of great information about the jungle. I went with a group and he was very attentive with the guests and everyone's different needs and comfort levels with the hiking. Dika, Dedek, and the rest of the family were so friendly and happy to answer any questions or help with anything, and make an amazing breakfast which is included. Andi arranged a car to and from the airport. Wifi was functional most of the time, which was helpful because I spent a lot of time working remotely in the restaurant. Bed in my room was very firm and comfortable, which is important to note because some different guesthouses where I've stayed have had very squishy, sinking beds. Bathroom has good showerhead water pressure, a western style toilet, and bidet. They provide toilet paper if needed. Towels also provided. Screens on windows prevent mosquitos from getting inside, and there is a fan inside the room for when it gets hot. Overall, a beautiful place to stay and a family business that makes you feel like family. Highly recommend!
