There was so much to do! The Northern Lights were out several nights and what an amazing experience! All the tour guides were friendly and helpful! During the winter, there are so many daytime activities as well - using their little bit of daylight to the fullest advantage! We went snowmobiling and could have done more, went dog sledding and held puppies, walked around town a little. Every person we met was friendly !
The B&B was fantastic. The auroras were absolutely stunning. There is plenty to do and see to keep you busy. From the museum, trails, historical sights and eateries. I would love to go back during the summer months. Just to experience all the seasonal things the summer season would have to offer.
We spent 5 nights exploring Yellowknife and loved every freezing moment. From snowmobiling, dog sledding, aurora hunting, coffee hunting🤣🤣 Visiting the ice castle at Great Slave Lake. It ticked off many of our bucket list items. It was a once in a lifetime experience.
Where do I start?! The aurora borealis... we hit the timing just right! Kp score of 9... they were blazing! The Northern Lights Yellowknife Tour company was great, except the bus reeked of diesel! The Sun Dog Trading Post kicksled/ice cave tour is a MUST! Stephan and Kelsey were wonderful guides and their dogs are friendly and very well-loved. Snowmobiling with YK Outdoor Adventures with Carlos as our guide was SO much fun! The toboggan dog sledding with a team of 14 dogs was fun. DRESS WARM if it's going to be -30 degrees C as it was for much of our stay.
the city has it all what you need. Maybe restaurants options are limited and food a bit more expensive as usual. It is a departure point to Aurora Village, if you forgot something you can buy it here, no problem.
Not much to review! 20000 people. Went to old town and drove though downtown. Lots of people just hanging around on the streets. City is modern architecture with little in the way of historic. Old town is a mix of restaurants and industrial on the shores of a Canadian shield lake. I thought there would be more to see and do
