There are 2 great features to this studio.
There are 2 great features to this studio. The balcony area is fanatastic with lovely views and table and chairs. I had good weather so this made up for slight lack of space inside. The other great thing is the bathroom. Large and very clean with full size bath and seperate shower cubicle, The one point not so good was the maintenance of the wooden stairs. They need some work for guests to feel safe when using them. The bed is very comfy but, as the studio is small, it does take up a lot of the space. Very much enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to other travellersGuest review bymartinNetherlands - 10.0

There's a really small beach in Leigh-on-Sea (I imagine this could get crowded in peak summer), but what's great is that it's so easy to walk along the coast line. We walked all the way to Southend with 3 kids (8, 6 and 2 - no buggy as we didn't think it would be suitable for a buggy. However, it would have been fine) which was super fun and they had lots of fun running down to the beach and finding shells on our way. We ate outside at the Crooked Billet. I had the steak and ale pie which was good, but the fish and chips were, according to my husband, 'the best he's ever had'. There's the Osborne Bros Cafe right next door which has an incredible array of fresh seafood from crab rolls, to punnets of cockles, mussels, prawns, jellied eels and more. You can eat those outside too. I got a dressed crab which I ate at home. We stayed at the start of Leigh Hill and it was convenient to head to the Tesco for supplies, but there's also some lovely cafes and shops along the Broadway too. This was the only strip we went to - there's more shops and cafes further up on Leigh Road. My kids really liked the charity shops along the Broadway. Weirdly, despite all the lovely cafes, we ended up in a Wimpy which was great value for kids. We also did a walk to Two Tree Island (nature reserve) which I recommend - it's a short walk to get to (and if you're driving, there's a small parking area) and lovely to walk around. There's a model airplane place in it so expect to see some planes doing loop-the-loops above your head! Note: If you're after a beach holiday, this isn't the best - there's a small beach, but it's mostly estuary. However, that didn't stop us having lots of fun on the patch of sand we visited, and if you walk further up towards Southend, there's more beach - a mix of pebbles / shingle and sand.Guest review byElizaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We looked for a relatively unspoiled seaside within an easy train ride from London City Airport (LCY). As such, we just walked past Adventure Island in order to get to the longest leisure pier in the world, which is well worth a visit. We also took a bus from our B&B to Shoeburyness, and walked the 2.5 miles (4.5 km) back along the coast. We thoroughly enjoyed both these activities. We also ate very good meals at The Gold Coast Chinese, and The Camelia Hotel, ans well as delicious fish and chips from the Friary.Guest review bySimonGermany - 8.0
I only stayed one night because visiting friends.
I only stayed one night because visiting friends. Not far from Hockley is Battlesbridge, there is an amazing antique centre there, well worth a trip. Stay in the Isabella Rooms B&B, it’s lovely and you’ll save money compared to Southend accommodation or Lee-on-Sea, both of which are a short drive away.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Leigh-on-Sea is a very pleasant place to visit.
Leigh-on-Sea is a very pleasant place to visit. Nice views, buildings and lots of nice restaurants. We would not stay in the same place which looks like a building site. The steps into the kitchen come living room are dangerous. Far to steep and narrow.Guest review byJamesIreland - 8.0

This is a lovely coastal town not far from Southend airport and with excellent train links to London. Of significant interest for the history buffs, this area played its part in the war effort. Whilst it’s more commercialised these days, Leigh still retains its character and Old Leigh is charming and quaint. You are spoiled for choice for things to do - there is something to please everyone!Guest review byDebbyUnited Kingdom
