Hotels near Mykonos Airport - JMK, Mýkonos City

Location Next visit I would definitely avoid staying in Sunlight Tow N or any accommodation ran by Teo he is a rogue Booking should remove his listings, as he try’s to give people sub standard accommodation not what they book. And what he has on bookings is all fabrication the unit does not provide 15 of the things he lists as part of the accommodation and it does not look anything like the photos which are staged . It was away from the crowds and peaceful, able to enjoy the resort pools, walk to beaches, restaurants, etc. Not much of any shopping though. Close to bus station to take to Mykonos town where all of the people and action are! Would have loved more time for their spa!

Rooms clean but small. Booked three view ocean room and had same view as two view ocean view which really only had one view. Small balcony to look out one direction over paved patio where sun chair sat. Far from town. No shopping nearby of any sort. Very windy! Beach nice. Water clear. View besutiful!

Mykonos City has lots of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants within a small area so it is easy to find everything you need without needing additional transport. We took a trip to Delos and there were other excursions/boat trips we could have gone on. We hired a quad bike and spent a couple of days visiting the beaches around the island but it was possible to get around by bus too. Cabs are pretty pricey compared to the UK. It was 40 euros to go 5 mins from the airport so best to book that from UK beforehand. We got an Uber on the way back which was a bit cheaper. Mykonos is more expensive than some of the other Greek Islands but there are many good, reasonably priced tavernas where you can buy souvlaki/gyros. We also ate at D’Angelos, Georgia’s Garden and Rustic Grill - 10-15 euros for a main course. A cappuccino is 3 or 4 euros and a local beer or glass wine is around 5 euros. It’s pretty hilly in Mykonos, so bear that in mind if mobility is an issue - you’d need to have accommodation in the centre if you want to avoid an uphill climb back to your hotel/room, etc.

The part of Mykonos island where we stayed was very quiet at night so you could get a lot of rest and relaxation, which was great. We had like a 3-5 minute walk to a beach, a store, and a couple of restaurants. It’s like 5-7 minutes from Mykonos Town or the Old Port where a lot of the main action is so you have to get transported there. We learned that you have to have a class M license yo rent the scooters 🛴 (mopeds). The cars and ATVs are fine to rent with a standard license but the scooters require a Class M or CM(I believe). It’s Grecian law but very disappointing for us lol! We would have been better off with the scooters as they rent them for 24 hours; the cars and ATVs as well but we had a dream of zipping around on the scooter🤗 we know now and I’m sure by the next time we go— I’ll be able to get one 😉 Don’t stay In Mykonos Town if you want peace and quiet. Do stay in Mykonos Town if you want a bustling night life with plenty of dining option well into the morning.

Tourlos is certainly a less expensive alternative to Mykonos Old Town---as a hotel location---while proving easy and inexpensive access (€2/passenger with the Sea Bus) to the Mykonos Old Town. The island of Mykonos is ,however,---as a preferred party island for especially the younger visitors---not my preferred Greek Island, for exploring historic sites or even enjoying places with a unique volcanic history and topography (like Santorini)....
