繁花荘seseragisou is a recently renovated ryokan in Kirishima where guests can make the most of its bar and shared lounge. Built in 1980, the property includes hot spring bath and public bath. Absolutely magical place, hidden in a mountain valley, surrounded by lush forest. The rooms look directly onto the river and are very generously spaced. Sadly we were only there for one night. Big mistake, it feels like you could spend an eternity there.

Highly recommend this place if you are visiting the area or looking for a relaxing base for visiting the national park and Kagoshima.

We found the owner to very friendly and we were able to have some good times there chatting with her. This is a simple husband and wife business and is not high end. The onsen is hot, which is great. There’s only about 10 cabins which is nice. It was very peaceful. We used this as a launch pad to other places and onsens in the kirishima area too.
