Hotel in Keekorok ( 1.7 miles)
Muthu Keekorok Lodge, Maasai Mara, Narok is the first property located in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve and it offers traditional accommodations with private patios. The most hospitable staff I’ve ever met! After the initial confusion with the bed count, they added the missing bed and even offered a presidential suite. Also, they were giving us a lot of bottles of water, even though they were not included in our plan. On the last day, they even gifted our children cute teddy bears. Other than that, the hotel itself is beautiful and clean. Many wild animals walk around. There is a pond with hippos right on the hotel territory.

Just right outside the Sekenani Gate, this place had everything we needed — warm water for showers, reliable WiFi, and great value for money in Masai Mara. Eti was incredibly helpful and accommodating. She gave us directions on how to get there by public transportation, helped us find the best rates for the game drive, arranged an authentic Maasai village visit, and even assisted us in getting a ride back to Nairobi. Thank you so much, Eti! Wishing you and your establishment continued success.

Truly Unforgettable Safari Experience at Drunken Elephant Mara From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff at Drunken Elephant Mara made us feel right at home. Special thanks to Newton, whose attentive and friendly approach truly elevated our experience—his hospitality left a lasting impression! The food was absolutely delicious, with each meal perfectly prepared and presented. From hearty breakfasts to exquisite dinners under the stars, the culinary experience rivaled the best we’ve had anywhere. The camp’s environment added a thrilling layer to our adventure. With baboons and hyenas occasionally strolling through the area, it felt like we were genuinely immersed in the wild—exciting, safe, and surreal all at once. In short, Drunken Elephant Mara delivered an unforgettable slice of wilderness wrapped in comfort and care. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an adventurous yet refined escape.
Staff and location are exceptional, but you get what you pay for. Rooms need an overhaul and definitely a lick of paint. Food was OK, buffet style, but dining is exceptionally busy and waiting/moving can be a bit of a pain
Beautiful ensemble. Central location in Maasai Mara. About 1 hour to Mara River. The hotel needs a general renovation and is too expensive for what it is offering. Poor breakfast and coffee and only fair dinner.
Keekorok is in fabulous location. Especially for Game Drive just outside of camp you Will see many animals. Exactly outside of your room you can walk around and enjoy with Garden and swimming pool and walking toward the Hippo pool takes 5 minutes. Staff were excellent. Sometimes during the day the power went out. And another things which I have to mention the quality of food can be much better. If you pay for full board Drinks not included even water.
