Hotels near Tivat Airport - TIV, Tivat

I had a confirmed booking but shortly before I arrived I messaged the owner and he advised that it wasn't possible to stay. It was Saturday night in Tivat and alternative accommodation was not possible. So although the owner accepted the booking he changed his mind without using official channels. I was left homeless for the night. Truly unprofessional owner who leaves the space available on booking.com on a whim and messes around with people's lives. I can't imagine how awful the stay would have been had he allowed me into the property I booked. Do not book with this place, you cannot trust it.

The old town is very interesting and there are many nice restaurants and shops. Lots of lovely streets to walk around. I would recommend la cathedral for amazing pasta! Traffic getting into Kotor is busy so best to stay outside and walk in.

A scenic place, some places for sightseeing and hiking are close or reachable by car or taxi. The place is not overcrowded and beaches less busy than in Tivat and Kotor. I would recommend to those willing to be outside the crowds.

Tivat Marina(Porto Montenegro )is lovely and modern. The promenade is very pretty with lots of restaurants and cafes. There is also the very upmarket marina which is very chic . lots of road building though to get there.

We only planned a 2-day trip to Kotor and we were very impressed with the area in general and mainly the Old Town where we based ourselves. One the 2 days we were able to travel up the Cable Car to enjoy a fantastic sunset and spend quality time exploring the Old Town before taking a speed boat trip to Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks. Absolutely spoiled for choice if you enjoy your food as too many cafes/restaurants catering for all and some very large pizza's/pizza slices if you are in a rush or on a tight budget.

I found the town itself not quite my vibe but the surroundings are absolutely beautiful. When I need to come back I will make sure to rent a car so I an explore more. The town is a great base for that with everything you need for convenience. Just not much to do in itself but great as a base to explore the region I think. I did find a nice ancient Roman path with ruins just walking distance from my accommodation. It wasn’t mentioned on google maps or in local signage. But that was special.
