Great location just behind the airport, Casa da Figueira is a great spot to explore the island. There is everything you need to spend a few days. It is a bit noisy because of the planes, but there are not so much and the last one is around 9pm.

Everything was exactly like it said in the description. The apartment is quite big, I wouldn't call it tiny. There even was a small gift basket from the hosts - very nice touch :) The bathroom is a good size, there was a shower gel and shampoo. In the kitchen there is a big fridge with a freezer, a kettle, some tea, all the neccesary plates, cups, etc. There were pots and saucepans, a cooker. There is Netflix available on the small TV in the bedroom. The bed was ok, quite comfortable. I didn't spend much time in the apartment as I was out on the tours a lot but while I was there I never heard a plane, even though the place is realy close to the airport - you can see the planes from the street. The airport is a walking distance from the apartment - around 20-25 minutes. Also the city center - it's a 30 minute walk but it's mostly flat on the way to the center. The taxi costs around 7 euros from the apartment to the city center.

We enjoyed our stay in Atlantic Gateway Lodge. The flat is spacious, well equipped and is in line with the photos. It is located in a local condominium, which is not spectacular from the outside, but the flat is nice. We appreciated that the hosts provided a lot of toiletries, as well as plenty of towels which was a big plus in the humid Azorean climate. We found the location, Arrifes, perfect (with a car). It is a quiet residential area, a 10-minute drive from Ponta Delgada centre and 5-minute drive from the motorway: an ideal base to explore the island. The airport is also just 10-minute drive away, but luckily no airplane noises can be heard. The windows of the back of the flat overlook green fields and mountains. A big well-equipped supermarket is only a 3-minute drive from the flat. Marcia, the host was kind, we had a good communication with her. She welcomed us in person with traditional Azorean cookies, showed us around the flat and helped us with local taxis, as we didn't have a car on the first day. There were noise issues one morning from a neighbour due to repair works, and Marcia and her husband were kind enough to agree with the neighbour to do the works when we were out. There was no issue with parking, there were always a couple of spots available. We recommend this accommodation and would gladly return.

This accommodation was just perfect. The people working here were so friendly and helpful, this hotel was so beautiful, the room was super clean spacious, and even though you are really close to the highway, all you could hear were the birds singing. We could use the jacuzzi for free and there was even a sauna you could use. We only stayed for one night but it was the perfect last day for us in the Azores. Breakfast was also very nice, a lot of options. We could take a look at the horses of the owner. And wow what a beautiful place for the horses! Sadly we did not got time to take a lesson.
