I celebrated my birthday with my girlfriend and the family helped making it something special. I will always remember Wai Makare and the lovely family. this was by far the best accommodation i have ever been to and deserves the best rating i have ever given. the family is so incredibly nice and tries to make your stay as good as possible. you can plan activities with them and all activities are free, whereas at other accommodations in the region you would pay a fortune. we also went to the famous sawa-i-lau caves, which was an experience. the food is incredible. the man knows how to cook and teaches you about fijian cuisine for just 25 dollars a day per person. they also try to show you the culture of the local people, show you nearby villages, schools and churches. an absolute experience! i can recommend this accommodation with heart and joy to everyone. it is not just an accommodation, but a unique experience that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. vinaka and thank you for the great time!

The staff here felt like a group of friends. Getting to know them and speaking to them was the best part of our trip. They all helped me do a proposal that me and my fiance will cherish for the rest of our lives and went out of their way to tailor our experience of these islands to something really beautiful. They looked after us and made sure we were always comfortable and happy, which must be a lot of effort. We'd love to go back, and we can't say thank you enough to each one of them for how friendly and caring they were towards us. Even the wild dogs felt like friends, one of the most beautiful and enjoyable experiences of our whole life. Amazing reef and three beautiful beaches, lovely lodge tent right on the sunset beach, friendly staff. We got to swim with mantas! Food was ok. Even at low tide, you could always go snorkeling through the boat channels on sunrise beach. Guys and girls from the dive shop were fantastic, special mention for Bella, one of the marine biologists, who took us on a great snorkeling tour.

The lounge area at the beach, fantastic snorkeling, the view from the restaurant, sunset beach and lovely staff were the highlights to me. Tree huts are simple but functional, shared bathroom facilities are great. There was so much love put in everywhere. Food was amazing, porridge & kokoda were especially amazing. Did the sunrise walk too, such lovely experience. Thank you very much, I will be back!

We were so happy to have stayed in this beautiful homestay. One thing that makes it special is that it is in the middle of the village and not like other resorts where you see a lot of other tourist which was so unique! Also, it is not just food and accomodation, but getting to live with the locals and understand how they live and sometimes we even cooked together. After a week it was so sad to leave our new friends: The family, Silo, Bill Va the children and all the others that made us feel so welcome. The activities are amazing the beach is close to the homestay and very beautiful!!! We are really lucky and learned a lot from them, and this was for sure our favourite place to stay in Fiji.

Amazing location. Great beach and reef. Wonderful walks to secluded beaches. Great food. Awesome friendly staff. Very simple living, no bells and whistles. Expert Manta Ray guides. Loved the trip to church. No mozzies in late June. Perfect place to switch off and unwind. Not 5 star, but we found it perfect.
