Lesbia and Julio are very warm and welcoming hosts. They made me feel like at home, we had nice conversations and it was a great pleasure to stay with them for some days. My room was huge with a big balcony directly above the water - very cool! The location is not in the Flores Island but in San Miguel - so if you search for a calmer non touristic area that's your choice! From Flores it is easy to arrive with a small boat in about 5 mins. Also recommended to book the tour to Tikal etc. and transports with them, they offer for a good price. And it is helpful to know some Spanish as their English is limited (but Julio is learning!) 😊 muchas gracias 🥰

Amazing place. Don’t be put off by the location - it’s super easy to take a boat to and from Flores Island, the boat costs just Q10 per person (US$1.50), there are loads of them, and they run all day until around 10pm at night. Zapote Inn itself is really lovely - lots of places to chill, they sell cold beer on the property for Q15, and offer great food at reasonable prices (we particularly enjoyed the typico breakfasts and the steamed fish dinner). The room was nicer than it looks in the photos, with the best beds we’ve had anywhere in Guatemala. The room had great aircon and was quiet at night. Another great part about this place is that it backs onto the rainforest. A short walk from the accom we saw howler monkeys climbing through the trees - an amazing sight! Not to mention the toucans and hummingbirds hanging about the property. The Tikal tour that Peter organised was great and good value. Peter was also able to organise a shuttle direct to Caye Caulker at a slightly cheaper price than is advertised online. We have already recommended this place to a few of our friends travelling in Guatemala and will continue to do so.

Such a beautiful little cabin on the lakeside! Very peaceful and relaxing place to stay, and Mario and Leo were really helpful, helping us organise trips out to Tikal as well as other ruins.

We liked our stay at Mayan spirit ! The place is located very peacefully in the middle of the jungle, but only a 5 min boat ride away from flores. We even saw (and heard) howler monkeys in the trees directly next to our cabin ! The boat was always available when we needed it. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the shower was hot. Internet was surprisingly fast! It would have been nice to have some extra furniture in the room, like a small table and chairs, but overall everything was fine!

The view from the room and balcony is worth it alone! The staff welcomed me in and was very friendly! They cleaned my room and made the bed every day which I really liked! There was even a boat to take you to the Island or your shuttle etc which was very helpful.

Nice hotel on the coast of Peten Itza lake. Location is good, within walking distance to Flores town center. Stuff was polite and helpful, WiFi was working well. Food was good. Overall, it is a good place to stay in Flores.

The location is very nice, the view is so beautiful. We really enjoyed the pool when we came since we had a big heat wave. The AC was a life saver.
