Facing the the Vembanad Lake, the Hotel Cocobay Resort Kumarakom is surrounded by tropical greenery. Accessible only by boat, it features an outdoor pool, a yoga centre, and a restaurant.

The breakfast was good, - fresh cut fruits & juices, toast & eggs, sausages, hash brown, etc. The various traditional Kerala dishes we had for lunch and dinner were very good too. The service staff did a good job, particularly Musa. The property is very well maintained, both inside and out. The traditional tiled roofs look great in the verdant settings. There's a spa and an outdoor swimming pool too for those interested. The property faces the great Vembanad Lake, so a great view is guaranteed at all times, and particularly at sunset. Cormorants, egrets and herons are seen by the lakeside. The access to the property from the car park is by a short boat ride on a village canal which adds to the atmospherics. We enjoyed walking through the neighbouring village and interacting with the friendly villagers.

The host family was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The room was not only spacious but also impeccably clean. The breakfast was truly spectacular, earning a perfect 10/10 rating. Additionally, they offered welcome drinks and tea and coffee. They offered us a fantastic backwaters tour that includes a delicious homemade breakfast, a 3-hour boating session, and an amazing lunch. Overall stay was fabulous!!

We booked 3 days at Ameya and added an extra one. Amazing garden, top notch bungalow and great swimming pool overviewing the lake. 4 times upclass dinner served at our own bungalow and we once took the opportunity to join the chef delivering his masterpieces. Everything perfect because of Anish (always ready to explain Indian history and Kerala culture) and his staff constantly running the extra mile and then doing one more. Highly recommended!
