You need some form of transportation to get around. Other than that the owners are super friendly, you can order food. The garden is super nice and the whole backwaters area is really pretty. I recommend checking out the bird sanctuary very early in the morning. He also offer to use the boat for 1000rupees/hr

Facing the the Vembanad Lake, the Hotel Cocobay Resort Kumarakom is surrounded by tropical greenery. Accessible only by boat, it features an outdoor pool, a yoga centre, and a restaurant.

The breakfast was good, - fresh cut fruits & juices, toast & eggs, sausages, hash brown, etc. The various traditional Kerala dishes we had for lunch and dinner were very good too. The service staff did a good job, particularly Musa. The property is very well maintained, both inside and out. The traditional tiled roofs look great in the verdant settings. There's a spa and an outdoor swimming pool too for those interested. The property faces the great Vembanad Lake, so a great view is guaranteed at all times, and particularly at sunset. Cormorants, egrets and herons are seen by the lakeside. The access to the property from the car park is by a short boat ride on a village canal which adds to the atmospherics. We enjoyed walking through the neighbouring village and interacting with the friendly villagers.

The hosting family was very welcoming and we were feeling directly almost part of their family. The rooms are clean and good, located 20m to the beach. The breakfast and especially the dinner were delicious! We were doing Yoga by a teacher in the morning on the Terrasse.

We had the pleasure of staying at an excellent beachfront house. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding - our luggage was promptly carried up, and the overall cleanliness was impeccable. The highlight was undoubtedly the rooftop terrace, offering breathtaking views. Additionally, an entire floor dedicated to breakfast with comfortable seating arrangements added to the charm of our stay. The host was exceptionally friendly and hospitable, making us feel right at home. The location couldn't have been better; it was incredibly convenient. We appreciated the ease of parking our scooter right outside the gate, and the reliable Wi-Fi was a bonus.

This is a beautiful hotel with amazing garden and swimming poll area on the lake shores! Staff is so helpful and friendly. They helped us a lot with some ginger mixture when we had stomach issue. Gorgeous, indian decor, clean and spacious room (better book the one with lake view), good breakfast. Quite pricy but you have to pay for good standard in India. Nothing within walking distance (not an issue, just FYI), perfect for relax and doing nothing. :)

What an amazing homestay this is. The best accommodation that we’ve stayed at during our trip to India. The room was large, clean and comfortable with air conditioning and good wifi. The terrace outside is spacious and is a great place to relax out of the sun. The best part of Neena’s homestay though is the food. Traditional Kerala breakfasts everyday, each one different, delicious and massive, followed by local fresh fruits and juice. The homestay also offers evening meals which are all homemade, tasty and amazing value for money. Our host Augustine and his family were so welcoming and friendly, they really made our stay there memorable.

Marari Beach Resort offers a sea-side village experience. Located 9.7 km from Alleppey and 14.5 km from Kumarakom, it has an outdoor pool while beachside dining is available.

Staying true to their philosophy of being eco-friendly, this CGH property was quiet and calm and celebrated the local food and culture. The staff were simply fabulous- special note of thanks to Jitin and Kavya from Chakara, Akhil from the Shack and of course the very talented Rizwan who played the music live (and let me sing as well!). We were truly touched by how accommodating everyone was! If you like a private, relaxed stay look nowhere else!
