We got there late in the evening after one of those really bad travel days. The homestay is far away from restaurants, but hosts Edward and Ashley were so lovely and ordered us some food for home delivery as we were starving. The room is so clean, the seating area in the garden cozy and the 3 days we stayed we got served different Kereala breakfast every morning which was lovely! Download Uber app like this you can order a Tuk Tuk. Or Edward and Ashley will help you out as they know the area and can get a Tuk Tuk for you. The hosts helped us out in many ways the days we stayed. I highly recommend this place and would love to come again.

Excellent Stay. Location of Villa is Superb. Calm and Peaceful Residential area with beautiful flowers and plants just 2 min from Busy Trivandrum City. Villa is very Spacious and around 12-14 members can stay very confortably.Stay was very much affordable too. Kitchen has all facilities for self Cooking. Hosts Akhil was very friendly and Helping, checked throughout our stay whether any help needed. I liked everything, especially: - The beautiful setting, with views over the ocean (it really is in front, which is not the case of many properties even in Kovalam) and palm trees; I could hear the waves from my bed, as well as all the birds singing (I made many recordings) - The location, less than 30mn from Trivandrum airport - All the restaurants nearby (I recommend “the Lobster Pot” literally next door) and the other facilities not far (e.g. currency exchange less than 15mn away) - The advance communication with Mr Sachin (so reassuring when travelling) and the professionalism of Mr Dibhyajith on site (who made everything so easy, starting in with check-in – I could pay by card, which is not always the case in India) - My bedroom (201) with a very big bathroom, powerful air conditioning (which I only turned on for 5mn every time the room was getting a bit too hot), very good wifi signal and breathtaking views.

Santa Maria is the hard earned, beautiful vision of its owners who chose its unique location (close to the city of Trivandrum, right on the beach, and close to the airport) which not only ticks all those boxes for travelers but is also peaceful & secluded. Added to this, their eye for beauty and flair for creating a boutique resort, has led to a place that has many unusual & unique touches. They have found & restored old palace doors, antique windows, keys, locks, doorknobs, mirrors & lampshades and created uniquely handsome rooms filled with these beautiful old pieces, as well as all modern conveniences. Another delightful touch is that all their bedlinen has pretty hand sewing on it. We stayed in the family room (my favourite of all the rooms they showed us, highly recommend- spacious, gracious & very comfortable) overlooking the pretty gardens, with hammocks & frangipanis. They also put their love and skills into all the cooking - their breakfasts were delicious, generous & a mix of Keralan cuisine & Western breakfast- something for everyone. Ask to see photos of their rooms, as each one is quite different, and priced accordingly. Worth splurging on the one you love to look of, if you can. My second favourite was the turquoise one with its own verandah overlooking the beach.
