Set in El Remate, 35 km from Tikal National Park, Posada del Cerro offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. The hotel also features free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service. The place is away from the village in a lush greenery and we loved it! Service was super friendly and fast. They even helped us with the transfer to Tikal and back. Our double room was simple but big, with a big terrace with chairs and a hammock to relax and enjoy the greenery / to read etc. Bed was comfortable and had a decent mosquito net. They have a decent menu so we seldom ate breakfast there or had some drinks. The hotel is a walking distance from El Remate so we also walked to visit some restaurants or tienda for some snacks when we wanted to. My favourite thing for sure was the fact it's a little away and in the greenery, little hidden gem. Because it's close to the bioreserve, it was wonderful to hear the sounds of nature and especially have our first experience with howler monkeys howling 🙂 I would recommend it for sure.

The whole experience, right from the greeting to our departure was very positive. The owner and his family were very pleasant and most helpful. The room had a nice balcony area with a good view and comfortable hammock. Everything was spotlessly clean.

We are within 8 minutes walking distance of the archeological excavations of Tayasal and 15 minutes walking on shady trails to the beach El Chechenal. Being on San Miguel, you get to have the best view of Flores at all different times of the day surrounded by beautiful plants. Staff are all lovely, especially Noa, who went out of his way to make sure everyone was happy; and the vibe is chilled, relaxed, and easy. It is on a bit of a hill so may not be ideal for people with mobility issues.

I cannot recommend this place enough!

Serena is located in Flores and features a private beach area, pool with a view and a garden. The property has pool and garden views. There is free private parking and the property provides paid airport shuttle service. The venue is a bit further out, but it is a very short walk away. It has a chill vibe and a fantastic garden and small swimming pool where to chill with an amazing view over Flores and the lake. It was recently completely renovated and it is starting again after it had closed down during COVID. All the beds and linens were new and the place was very clean. The owner and Don Mario were super welcoming and flexible with my arrival and departure time, allowing me to stay a lot longer to accommodate my bus schedule. I spent a chill day sunbathing and swimming and slowly exploring the restaurants around for the meals. There are boats continuously connecting San Miguel to Flores so you don't miss out on what the island has to offer, but you have very resting sleep.

Mundo Maya International Airport is 20 km from the property, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Wow, what an amazing location and lovely hosts. We stayed in the double room which is right on the lake and really enjoyed making use of the terrace area. The breakfast was lovely, freshly prepared each morning. Getting to the accommodation was easy using the private boat and the host always left to pick us up as soon as we asked.
