This place is class! A huge stretch of white sandy beach with essentially just the hotel on it! We had a beachfront villa which we loved. The outdoor shower is so cool and it was amazing to open the curtains each morning and walk straight onto the beach! You are assigned a personal butler for the duration of the stay and you can contact them via WhatsApp at any time and for any request. A special shoutout to Malshan here! He was so professional and very responsive to all our requests. The pool is amazing - it is huge and there are shelves on the sides you can sit and lounge in to cool down! There are books, balls, volleyball and Pétanque around here to enjoy during the day! 😊 We chose to do the destination dining and the outdoor cinema add ons during our stay and just wow. All the food was sensational throughout our stay! I recommend French toast for breakfast and butter chicken for dinner!!! There are local fishermen who work on the beach, pulling in their nets and dealing with their catch, this was a very unique thing to experience! So much more I could mention!

The staff especially Arshed the general manager and Farhan went way above and beyond to make our stay so special. They arranged snorkeling and an elephant safari, we also have some dietary requirements that they catered to without missing a beat. Truly a wonderful experience.

We stayed at Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa for 8 nights and were 100% satisfied. The food was excellent, with plenty of variety - spicy local dishes, continental options, lots of seafood, fruits, and yummy desserts. It was easy to find kid-friendly meals, and the restaurant staff were top-notch. Our cottage was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable, with great soundproofing from top neighbors. Housekeeping was fast and flawless special thanks to Thasitha and Viraj for keeping everything spotless. The resort was peaceful and not too crowded. The pool was clean and well-designed for both kids and adults, with a nice bar nearby. The beach was beautiful and perfect for swimming in June. We also loved the kids’ animation. Richie, the animator, kept kids entertained with fun activities, giving parents time to relax. He was friendly, creative, and great to chat with. This was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in - clean, cozy, family-friendly, and well-managed. Highly recommended!

Amazing location. Literally less than 1 min to the beach. Caring, attentive host. The host is so welcoming and happy to help with anything. Amazing food. Breakfast is incredible and very generous. Would really recommend having dinner at the guesthouse at least once as it’s the most amazing Sri Lankan home cooked food and very reasonably priced!!

A beautiful setting with gorgeous garden and sea views from every room. Spacious accommodation including a large room and bathroom, and many communal sitting areas. Each room also includes a private terrace or veranda with comfortable furniture. The staff were wonderfully attentive and friendly. The food was excellent, with a special mention to the chef Manoj who created beautifully presented, freshly cooked and most importantly delicious food. He catered each meal to our specific requests and dietary needs. It is a wonderful property to stay and relax. It’s worth noting that there’s nothing to walk out to and the town is a bit of a distance, but you will have a lovely time staying and relaxing at this hotel. The beach itself is stunning, the water is calm, clean and warm and its is fringed by palms. Paradise

Situated in Kalkudah, within 500 metres of Kalkudah Beach and 400 metres of Sri Muththu Mariyamman Kovil, Bay Walk by AHSRAM features accommodation with a garden as well as free private parking for guests who drive. The property is set 1.8 km from Sri Munai Murukan Kovil, 4.6 km from Valaichchenai Harbour and 33 km from Batticaloa Railway Station. Kokkadicholai Hindu Temple is 49 km from the guest house. This place is twice as nice as the Ubay Homestay I stayed at in Trincomalee for which I paid much more - $30 per night. What's better about it, besides the lower price, is: More spacious, more modern room Fewer bugs (really hardly any) Larger, less smelly bathroom Much quieter setting. Instead of being in the middle of a bunch of other places, including a loud hostel next door, as Ubay was, this place is in a wide open, peaceful setting, the only close neighbor a church. Better breakfast at the same price - 1300 Free, filtered water A larger staff, very attentive, but unobtrusive, only there when you need them The two beaches nearby are quieter and less crowded Much thanks to Usha, the owner's wife, who speaks excellent English. She welcomed me graciously with fresh coconut water and gave me another one when I left.
