This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The guest house features facilities for disabled guests. Owners were super lovely and helped return an item I left on the island asap! They picked us up from the ferry and had a courtesy car we could hire during our stay which was invaluable. Cabins are fairly close to each other but private enough we could enjoy our stay. Had washer and dryer available if needed.

Stewart Island's iconic South Sea Hotel is located on the foreshore, in the centre of town. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the ferry and airline terminals.

The restaurant offers local seafood, and a varied menu with daily specials. The on-site bar is a great place to meet locals, view historic photos, and learn about island life and history. A wonderful three-star hotel with friendly staff, unbeatable location, and all you need for a comfortable stay. We stayed in a studio and it was wonderfully quiet at night. In the evening you can mingle with the locals in the pub downstairs. There is a good selection of food and drinks and the pub closes early so there's no noise. Everyone was helpful and ready for a laugh. Can definitely recommend it.
