Absolutely adored everything! The breakfast was super good. A real hot tasty homecooked meal! It was like being in a fancy restaurant. With a selection of fruit and cereal and different breads for toast and pastries. The beds were comfortable. The atmosphere was cozy and clean and the host was particularly friendly and sweet and accommodating. It was quiet and peaceful at night and in a very safe and walkable part of town. Easy access to railway.

The Bear inn, best weekend away ive had in years,,,the chalet i stayed in was fantastic modern set within a courtyard behind pub was first class and quiet,,collin the owner was welcoming and very helpful, pub had a great atmosphere where you felt very welcome with a great atmosphere. Food well you won't go hungry and homemade at prices that left me scratching my head, best stay for the carvery on Sunday that was lovely!!! Highly recommended maybe back this weekend

We were a family of eight on a 2 night stay, from start to finish we were made to feel very welcome. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The food was great and the staff were exceptional. The owners went out of their way to help us. We'll definitely stay again.

This very nice and calm place and transportation is so easy to go to Cardiff city center. And it’s so cheap. Every 15 mins you can get a train. Staff so friendly and pleasant to help. Kitchen filled with breakfast and coffee. Value for money

    The building was amazing, not far from the castle and town centre; the building's history and the way the owners presented it was outstanding. It was a great experience. Adrian made us feel welcome and added information on all we needed to know, including where to go in the evening. I must also add - beautiful teacups and cutlery at the breakfast added to the feeling of warmth and a touch of luxury. Even the background music was fitting, every detail just right, thank you!

    Lovely, friendly and helpful host (Steve). Room was fairly basic, but comfortable, sizeable, and more than adequate for my needs. Great location for centre of town and train station. Quiet. Didn't have breakfast.

    Y Fan is in a great location and feels secluded despite being a short walk to the town centre. Christine and Adrian are great hosts and go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable. Lovely public areas where you can relax. Breakfast was exceptional. The hot food was cooked to order and all produce was of a high quality. Again nothing was too much trouble. Thank you both for making our stay relaxing and enjoyable.

    Excellent breakfast with a great choice, the fresh fruit was amazing g as was the smoked salmon. Y Fan was easy to find and a good walk into the town to find a pub. Enjoyed our drink in the very comfortable Lounge room. Great choice of gins, especially the marmalade gin.
