Perfect accommodations in the heart of Lewes. We had the room at the top but the stairs were not a problem. Vicki was a wonderful host! A big room with lots of high quality touches. The bed was big and very comfortable, small kitchenette with everything we could need. Lovely bathroom with a big shower! We loved our stay here for Bonfire night! Perfect location!

Very pleasant room. Excellent bed and quality bedding - always makes a difference. We didn't eat there as we arrived late , but we had a drink and it is a truly lovely atmospheric old English inn. The breakfast in the morning was absolutely top class. I had scrambled egges on toast and there was practically too much, and my husband who is vegan enjoyed a cooked breakfast too. The coffee was so good I had to go back on the way home again (through Newhaven) to find out about their coffee and the machine they use! It was very well placed for coming off the Newhaven ferry late ( about 10.30pm - not sure if you could arrive after hours) and there is a huge car park ( rather dark!) I would definitely stay there again.

Very quiet location. It is a good place if you have a car, or you like to walk a lot. Very close to a convenient store if you like to do your own food, or to feel like home. The Downs Hotel is exceptionally well presented, the rooms have been tastefully refurbished and decorated. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I loved my room with a stand alone bath and walk in shower. The king size bed was a surprise and so comfortable.
