It was our best accommodation in 4 weeks in Sri Lanka! We stayed in a separated little cottage, was very clean, comfortable bed and pillows, it's situated upon the little rock,so you feel the air, and it was not humid, nice garden and absolutely delicious breakfast ( you can order what you wish) and evening meals at a cosy terrace!! And of course wonderful friendly personal, very helpful and sweet! Also important for travellers- free of charge water bottles and !! making your laundry!! Super recommended!!! PS : you can rent the bikes to go to the temples and around the lakes,with we did and liked it so much!

Amazing place. Great service, the family is so kind and really does everything to make your stay the best it could be. They helped me with arranging a reliable and friendly driver to get from the airport to the guest house, and we stopped multiple times so I could try local fruits, so sweet. The son of the household showed me around Mihintale, and the parents provided a lovely meal every morning and evening at my requested time - absolutely amazing food that will keep you going for days haha! The room was very nice and clean. I was looking for something a bit more fancy, and definitely got what I was looking for and for a great price. Super comfortable bed and pillows, soft sheets and a nice bathroom. Environment is super calm and great if you're looking for some peace and quiet. Peacocks, chameleons and beautiful butterflies all around, you can spot everything from the comfort of your breakfast table. Honestly couldn't think of any improvements!

Janaka is THE host—truly exceptional in the hospitality scene in Sri Lanka. He is incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel completely at home, while also being highly professional and attentive to all our needs. He went out of his way to help us plan our days in Mihintale exactly as we wished—and what he managed to organize for us was no small feat! He was also genuinely concerned for our safety throughout our stay: while Sri Lanka is a very safe country, his attentiveness was still much appreciated. The food cooked by his wife was amazing—made with quality ingredients, prepared beautifully, and full of bold, authentic flavor. Easily one of the top three meals we had in Sri Lanka. If you're planning a trip to Anuradhapura or Mihintale to explore the sacred Buddhist sites, and you're looking for something authentic and off the tourist trail, stay in Mihintale. It's rich with temples and spiritual atmosphere. Stay at Janaka’s place, ask him for advice, and you won’t be disappointed.

Very hospitable and kind owner, helped us from the moment of booking and check-in. Also, thank you very much for accommodating us with a dog (this is rare) The family room is very spacious and equipped with everything you need, we even watched a movie via HDM cable. From the balcony we looked at the stars and enjoyed the evening, there is a refrigerator in the hotel, which also helped to preserve food and fruit. Everything went just great, we will definitely stay here again when we come! And there is also a small lake nearby, in which fish live (just like a house park)

It was situated in among the ruins.. So meant after hours viewing.. Great staff.. Cheapest eats.. Situated a big pond.. So mornings full of wildlife.. Wow.. Rice fields also.. We loved everything! But the hosts were something extra. They helped us with everything, for example solving a dental emergency, driving us to the bus stop, driving us to a lunch place and organising acitivites. When we arrived we mentioned that we had been to a cooking class in Negombo and that we had enjoyed that a lot. The owner then directly set up a little cooking class for us to do with his family. We were cooking with the family and we had an amazing time and amazing food. If we ever come back to Anuradhapura we will for sure stay here again!

    Very caring and kind host who does his utmost to make his guests feel comfortable and at home. Breakfasts and dinners were great, with new surprises every day. The property is about 300 meters from the main junction and small commercial center of Mihintale, i.e. close to banks, bakers, pharmacies and food and fruit shops. Nevertheless, it was quiet, aside from occasional monkeys scampering across the roof top. Hold on to your bananas!

    everything was perfect; the room is independant with a great balcony. it’s very quiet, clean and everything you need is available. Kapila is the best host I never had.     Extraordinary hospitality of our host and his family. We had coffee, lime juice (limes from their own garden) and fruits. A very serene place. Clean and quiet and green all around. We felt so much at home. Mosquito nets, big beds and very clean bath. When I opened their guest book, I saw so very many entries by people who all said the same> just wonderful. THANK you, we hope we can visit again

    It is very close to Mihinthale town and the environment is very quiet and peaceful. Facility was clean and well maintained. Definitely a fun place to stay for family and couples. The owner of the place was very helpful and tried to make it our best stay. The family who owned the place was super welcoming and give us a feeling more of a guest family than an actually hotel. Great value for the money. Would definitely come back again when visiting Mihinthale.
