We loved our brief one night stay at Amazilia's Guest House. It's actually a newer home that has been divided into apartments with a communal kitchen/dining area. We also loved the pool and covered area by the pool which is a lovely place to picnic. It's in a very quiet location just outside of Liberia and the property is very well maintained. Unfortunately, we did not have time for breakfast as we had to catch our flight. Communication with the owner was great.

Gardens spill their green abundance, the view flows wide as a hymn, and the hush of nature wraps the traveller as a cloak. The host, Sergio, is a man of rare courtesy and deep knowing; his tales of Costa Rica carried us far beyond our chairs, so that we travelled the breadth of the country without once leaving his porch. Each dawn brought breakfast: eggs fresh and forthright, toast crisp, cheese modest yet true, coffee and tea brewed with sincerity. Our chamber, though compact, held all we needed; the shower head rained down with a vigour that quickened the spirit, and though the hot water sang its song for only two minutes, it was a vivid two minutes, sharp and bracing, like a baptism of the tropics. The architecture itself delights in its simplicity, a row of cabins bound together as though carriages upon a railway, joined by a balcony that becomes, in essence, a grand salon. We had this gallery entirely to ourselves—four neighbouring rooms stood empty, so the balcony belonged wholly to us, our private stage set against the mountain air. A sentinel camera watches over this shared space, lending a sense of safety to those who wander it by moonlight. The room within, small but sufficient, asks one to live lightly, to dwell not in clutter but in the essentials: a hanger of four arms sufficed for our coats; the mattress bore us well, firm with its springs, while our own pillows, brought from home, made the bed familiar. The bathroom, too, spoke of intention: a modest bin reminded us to waste little, to tread with care. The presence of life is everywhere. Ants marshal and patrol, reminding us that the house stands in communion with the forest. Mosquitoes are thwarted by nets thoughtfully placed, so slumber remains unbroken. Even the house cat, peculiar of visage with a head grander than its body, insists upon friendship, pressing close, purring, licking with unabashed honesty—a beast as singular as the place itself.

Situated in Carrillo and only 200 metres from Carrillo Beach, La Puesta del Sol B&B features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. This bed and breakfast offers a private beach area, a garden, as well as a bar. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. It was very clean and quiet. Close to the beach and a great breakfast.

This place is a gem and Nathalie and Yannick are wonderful and helpful hosts. The accommodations are serene and beautiful, nestled in a quiet location surrounded by the jungle and the sounds of playful monkeys. At night, you can see all the stars in the galaxy from the stunning infinity pool and the garden grounds. The drive to get there can be a bit off-putting at first but you will quickly get used to it (maybe don't plan your first arrival for night and reserve an SUV). The WI-FI is weak and there are no TVs in sight, so plan to sign off completely and be intentionally and mindfully in the moment. You won't regret it. This is honestly the best place to do that, with a lovely and delicious curated breakfast in the morning. The lodge may seem remote but there are beautiful beaches and a few delicious restaurants a short drive away - Playa Avellanas and Il Rustico were our favourite. Tamarindo is a very doable 20 minute drive away. Do not hesitate to book this as your Costa Rican Pacific beach accommodations.

Boogie Boards and deck chairs available to borrow. 2 minutes to supermarket. Attentive hosts. If we ever came again we would stay there again.

At the bed and breakfast, the units are equipped with a patio. Every unit has a coffee machine and a private bathroom with a shower and a hair dryer, while certain rooms include a fully equipped kitchen equipped with an oven. At the bed and breakfast, all units come with bed linen and towels. We really enjoyed our time at antema lodge. The hosts were very welcoming, the pool is super nice and refreshing and you feel like being in the jungle, seeing monkeys and iguanas. Apart from that you have a nice yoga area and a little jungle gym with some weights. The rooms were very clean and also modern. There is free coffee as well.

Guests at the bed and breakfast can make the most of yoga classes offered in-house. Sightseeing tours are available in the surrounding area. Guests at Casa Donna Rosa B&B can enjoy cycling nearby, or make the most of the garden. Everything was excellent from the food, to the hospitality, to the location. We couldn’t have asked for anything better. Our hosts went above and beyond to make sure that we had a wonderful experience.
