We really enjoyed our stay, it was clean, cozy and nice to be outside of the main centre but with easy access by foot or grab.. The hosts are very nice and they even gave us little Indonesian pancakes for breakfast which was a nice surprise.

Everyone was friendly and the serene, peaceful environment and background was everything I hoped for. I love nature so this was ideal for me. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Very friendly owner, Herni, who also conducts cooking class. Guest are welcomed to use the kitchen. (Just need to clean up after use.) On the day of my arrival, I was invited to partake tasty food from the cooking class. Coffee, tea and snacks are made available to guests. Single room is clean and pretty cosy. Bed is comfortable and aircon is really cool. There isn't any problem with wifi connection. Jalan Malioboro, Taman Sari and the Kraton are just a short grab ride away should one do not wish to walk in the heat. Would definitely stay at Villa Sambal if I were to visit Yogyakarta again.

The quiet place away from the hectic center of Yogya, the friendly and warm welcome from the owners, the beautiful pool surrounded with plants, trees and flowers, the exquisite dinner (and cheap)… Everything !
