Personally, Obertraun left a deeper impression on me and will remain in my memory longer than Hallstatt. It's such a leisurely village! Although this trip was short, I plan to come back in the fall for a longer vacation. They were nice, informative, very generous in accommodating our requests and overall a cute and enjoyable couple. The house sports a beautiful view and the location is just close enough to walk to nearby restaurants or the lake, but far enough so you feel privacy.
