Everything about our stay was just perfect. From being picked up at the train station, delicious homemade meals with records playing in the background, a beautifully appointed home, friendly and helpful hosts, riding through the countryside on electric bikes and being driven to & picked up from Koyasan. Such a special experience.

The area was beutiful with some lovely walks. Great for a relaxing time. The host realy went above and beyond. I don't think there is a walkable shop but the hotel is also a restaurant.

Meeting Nori, Se Shiu, and all the other monks was one of the highlights of our trip; they made us feel really welcome anytime we met and were happy to answer our questions with insight and thoughtfulness, making it look easy when in fact they were always busy with keeping things in order. Beautifully converted machiya in the centre of the historic district of Gojo. Absolutely incredible view over the river and mountains. The host gave perfect recommendations (go where he tells you, the Okonomiyaki and the cocktail bar were excellent) and even reserved places for us. A really exceptional and kind host who had thought of lots of ways to ensure the stay was perfect. Can’t say enough wonderful things, one of the best places we’ve stayed in Japan and definitely the best host. Only wish we’d stayed longer!

We had a wonderful welcome from all the staff which helped us relax a lot after traveling in the rain all day. The room and food were amazing! We loved the view from our room and also the view in the onsen. I'd love to stay here again!
