The location is spectacular with a wonderful view over Zihuatanejo Bay. It was a short walk along the beach into town with many little beach side bars and restaurants at which to stop for refreshments along the way. If you are not up to the walk back at the end of an evening then it's only a short 50 pesos taxi ride home. The building and the pool area are well kept and the 24hr security (although in Zihua safety is rarely a concern) was friendly and helpful. The apartment, although a little dated, was clean, comfortable and spacious enough for two couples. Even on 32 degree days, the cool ocean breeze blowing through the huge windows made AC (although available) unnecessary. My wife and I have visited Zihuatanejo a number of times over the past years and have never been disappointed. This trip was no different. Casa Bahia was our first non-hotel experience and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Jim and Holly were very forthcoming with information and we were delighted with their recommendations for bars and restaurants that we had not visited before. Upon arrival we enjoyed a warm greeting from Carmen the property manager even though we arrived outside of the normal check in hours. Throughout our stay Carmen was always readily available for any questions and arranged for a taxi to take us to the airport the day we left. All in all a fantastic stay!

Our hosts were excellent. It did not come with a safe so we asked for one and a brand new safe was installed the next day. We also asked for a toaster which was provided. The hosts went out of their way to fix a small water problem as well as an Internet problem. We really liked the suite and the gracious hosts

The Casa Arcoiris is a magical place - not least thanks to its hosts, Humberto & Jesus, both of whom have the uncanny skill of turning a traveller's choice into a magnificent home-like experience. I was given a stunning room with a private deck & kitchenette (a stone iguana curled up on the sink), and a view of the ocean. I could see the Pacific without lifting my head from the pillow - and when I worked in the late afternoons, I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful office, sunset and all. There was even outdoor lighting and an outdoor socket - perfect for writing & typing late into the night. Butterflies and birds by day, chirping geckos and cicadas at night. The room is tastefully decorated (not overdone) in Mexican style, with two calavera Catrinas watching over those asleep from a cinnabar wall recess. The shower area floor is lined with stones, two starfish perched on a sand-coloured wall. The room has everything one can ask for, refrigerator & hotplate to fast WiFi and sliding glass doors and A/C for the night. The property has a rooftop pool for communal use, with further gorgeous views of the bay - and of the hills on the other side, if you manage to get your eyes off the sparkling waters :) Breakfast was also a dream, with a different hot local dish daily, your diet restrictions taken care of. Jesus is a splendid cook. It's a 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach; this also means you are close to the ocean while well away from nighttime beach party noise. The chacalacas are the noisiest creatures around :) It's a gem - I can't wait to go back. Should have booked a longer stay.

    Each villa is different. Our room was wonderful, yet the bathroom was small. It would've been helpful to have a few hooks for hand and body towels, along with a small shelf for bath items vs on top of the back of toilet. The shower began to stink from being clogged prior to our arrival and it would've been nice to have help over the weekend. The view from our room was amazing!! The housekeeping and maintenance staff were terrific.

    Loved the beautiful peaceful ocean front location! The quality of the villa and resort was incredible ! Host Maggie was delightful! 12 cats and 2 dogs! I loved it! Beautiful clean sparkling pools! Fabulous fully equipped outdoor kitchen! On the bus route!! No need to take cabs!! Even from the airport, a 5 min walk out of the airport, then take the bus for 17 pesos right to the resort!! Bus to Zihuatanejo and to ixtapa! Unbelievable vacation!!

    Great location and short walking distance to the beach and tons of restaurants. However it was very quiet in our villa. Our villa was very large and the kitchen was very well equipped. Large area outside with a full kitchen and dining table and other seating. Staff were nice and pleasant. It was our 1st time to that area and we were very happy with this hotel and would stay again!
