A really wonderful room with a very welcoming host, Isabella. She's very generous and is always smiling. She was also very patient with us learning Portuguese! Melo is an interesting little historic town and has great access to many points of interest across Serra do Estella.

We enjoyed getting to know our host and hearing of the history of this traditional Portuguese property. We enjoyed the fruit trees and the pool, and beautiful view of the valley, the Church bells ringing, vineyards, and walk through the local neighborhood. It was a wonderful experience. The rooms were very clean, and had everything we needed to cook our own meals, and eat outside or inside. Although located in mountain village, the stores were still fairly close by, along with numerous places to visit, including a tranquil river beach. We feel we made new friends!

The location is amazing, just next to the castle. The house was very confortable, warm and cozy. It had all facilities and amenities. The hosts were extremely helpful and kind, and presented us with gift box with wine, cheese, jam and cookies upon our arrival.

    Spotless, clean and well equipped with everything needed. The barbecue was a good surprise which allowed us to some nice meals cooked at home. Very calm and beautiful location. Nice communal pool and plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors playing with the family. Perfect for kids with small kids. It's located near several historical villages and there is plenty to explore.
