The room was big, the location was beautiful! The breakfast was simple and delicious, the dining room is just gorgeous and it is available with the kitchen every evening (well equipped). The beds were the best thing :)

Guesthouse Bitra B&B’s simple rooms have either private or shared bathroom facilities. They provide views of Mount Hekla or the surrounding countryside. The hosts were amazing. This was my first guesthouse experience and it exceeded my expectations. We got there and it was already dark. We noticed that the northern lights could be out and the hosts did whatever they could to help us see them. It was great! We were the only 2 people booked for the night but when we woke up there was this massive and delicious breakfast. I was astounded by all the different kinds of food they offered. I would stay here all nights if we weren’t going to drive around Iceland.

This hotel is set on a farm within the Golden Circle Region, 15 minutes’ drive from Gulfoss Waterfall and Geysir hot water springs. It offers horse riding during the summer season, traditional cooking and a geothermal outdoor hot tub. Perfect location on the Golden Circle. The restaurant is unique. Good panorama from the room. Warm, clean and confortable. Kind and helpful staff.

The accommodation comes with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with walk-in shower, hot tub and a hair dryer, while the kitchen features a dishwasher, an oven and a microwave. A toaster, a fridge and stovetop are also featured, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle. At the holiday home, the units are fitted with bed linen and towels. We loved everything about this cabin. We were in the Turquoise cabin. The location was the perfect base for exploring the Golden Circle and the neighbouring Selfoss. It was also convenient to Keflavik Airport as well as Reykjavik. In the town, there are restaurants, cafes, bars, grocery shops and petrol stations if you just want to hang about the village. We walked to the brewery our first night - everything’s within a 10-15 minute walk. There’s also some hiking and thermal springs close by (we didn’t get to dip in the springs because we ran out of daylight). On to the property - it was like being home and living near a friendly neighbour. It felt very private and the cabin was very warm in freezing temperatures. (once we identified the one window that was left on breathe!) There was everything we needed for cooking/eating and the coffee machine was a bonus. There’s no cable TV, but that was perfectly fine - we just cosied up to some Netflix movies at the end of the day (when we weren’t in the sauna or hot tub). The bathroom was spacious and clean and soap, etc. was available, which was unexpected and handy. The bedroom was comfortable for the both of us. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we sleep like babies the entire stay. Our favourite parts of our stay were the sauna and hot tub. We enjoyed a couple of sauna sessions during our stay and spent a few nights in the hot tub. On our last night, we were slightly bummed that we didn’t see the northern lights and around the time we were thinking to get out, they appeared and put on the most beautiful show. We didn’t have our cameras, but it’s a memory that will live with us for a long time. Last, but not least, the hosts were incredible and friendly and available when we needed them. They were also very communicative before and during our stay. We’ve been considering a second trip when the weather improves, and if we’re down that way, we Weill certainly stay in the Backyard Village again.

The holiday home is composed of 2 bedrooms, a living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and 1 bathroom. The accommodation is non-smoking. The cabin was really great. Small, but it had everything we could ask for, and more. A lovely handwritten note from the owner and welcome sweets were waiting us! The area around the farm was beautiful, the kids walked around and saw the horses 😊 Everything was really clean and tidy.

The guest house has private entrance. We were really happy with this cosy and comfortable cabin. It is spacious, good equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, nice hot tub and a beautiful view. We had 2 weeks in Iceland and travelled around the country. We stayed in 5 different locations, all special and unique. But Gljásteinn was a little corner of paradise. Róbert built his house with so much passion and love and respect for the nature around it, it is very impressive. He was there to guide us, to give us some good tips about where to eat, what to explore, and the whole experience was simply wonderful.
