Very nice separate room with Terrace and bath. Almost like a one room apartment. It has a TV and various utilities, Tee Coffee. Very helpful and nice hosts. It's great f you need a ride to the airport.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Emily’s house! The house is not only beautiful and very cozy, but also perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need – and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace and simply taking in the peaceful atmosphere. What truly makes Velvet Fern Guesthouse special is the thoughtful and loving attention to detail: everything was personally and carefully prepared for our arrival, including a lovely breakfast and bikes we could use – such a kind touch! Gorgeous hostel, very clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Had everything we needed. Cute little guest garden where we sat and listened to a concert being hosted next door. Great community. Made me want to move in! I was really sad I only booked one night. Lots of interesting things to do around the place, amazing local trails, restaurants and a local museum. Highly recommend a visit to Cumberland and this hostel, it was one of my trip highlights.

What an absolute gem! Location, hosts, comfort and decor, facilities - everything was so well thought through and beautiful! We were in Comox for the wedding and this place made the occasion even more special. I would love to return.

Everything. I wasn't sure what I was getting for the affordable price. I opted for the bunk bedroom that I fortunately didn't need to share with anyone. I had access to everything from the washing machine to the kitchen and bathroom. I was only sharing with one other person who's residing in a spare room here. The host was a gem with goals of turning this into a wellness retreat. Had an amazing massage/healing treatment for an extra charge but it was so worth it. I think I'm one of the first visitors to her home and I can't recommend it enough. This isn't a hotel so if that's what you're looking for this isn't for you. It's a shared living arrangement in a large basement suite. Hostel style living. 4 minute drive to downtown comox, 4 minutes to tim hortons and McDonald's if that's your thing. Also only a 10 min drive to most beaches.
