Great value for your travel dollar (or Colones) We loved staying there for the convenience to the local area yet privacy in the hills. We will return for a longer visit with our wonderful hosts, Brigette and Leon.The nights were alive with the sounds of animals and insects and a beautiful night sky. Apparently we are not unusual in turning off all thee lights and sitting on the deck at night.

Located in a quiet area - very peaceful. We enjoyed driving through a local community to reach Lodge Margouillat. Beautiful grounds - Thomas has created something very special. We were in Tambor bungalow - very spacious; lovely furnishings; wide, comfortable, bed with lovely bed linen; walk-in closet with shelves and hanging space; good-sized bathroom with large shower area; settee, coffee table, chairs and table in living room area; good-sized fridge/freezer (much bigger than expected); outdoor seating in secluded area. Two lovely pools - we made very good use of these. Thomas was a great host and was very welcoming - he gave useful recommendations and we enjoyed our conversations with him. We ate at Al Chile 4 times - good food, cheap, and where locals also eat.

Absolutely amazing! It’s clean, calm, well organised and the staff is great. Everything is taken care of! The beds are amazing!! The best beds we had in whole Costa Rica. The location is a 10 minute (bumpy) ride from the city, but nothing more difficult than other roads in Costa Rica. It’s part of the deal. Make sure you have a car if you stay here. If not, the hotel can arrange transfers and tours where they pick you up.

Great place to chill after the hustle and bustle of other parts of CR. Nothing was a problem for Yoni or Ana, including using a washing machine and a very early breakfast on departure day. We had a cabana which was awesome with monkeys right out our window. Would have stayed longer if we didn’t have flights booked.

Beautiful, clean accommodation! With delicious breakfast. The atmosphere in the hotel was quiet and the decor was pleasant and comfortable and also a lovely large swimming pool! This is one of my best locations in Costa Rica! The hotel is a hidden gem, the view is amazing, the natural tide pool also very special. The room reminded me of a cabin in the woods, but with a jungle vibe. Very clean, safe and with an amazing terrace with ocean view. The garden with the hammocks is also very relaxing. The staff is super nice and very talkative. I loved everything!

    The explanations by Thomas at the beginning were inspiring. The details of his luxury and very clean and secure resort were outstanding. We experienced more wildlife (animals) in his resort than in the guided tours around the country. We stayed 5 days and were pleased to go back to this oasis every evening.
