Everything, the property is full or character. It’s peaceful and tranquil. The pool table and football table was great fun. Celeste and Patrick are fantastic hosts and oh my god the food!!! Everything is homemade, we have not stopped talking amazing it all was. If you want to get a real authentic taste of France it won’t get any better than this . Our daughter has autism and they made special request for her with no problem at all. Can’t recommend highly enough

We arrived in driving rain from the Caen ferry and were delighted to be welcomed by our host Angela (also known as Sue) who made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay including warm rooms and a generous welcome basket of goodies to settle us in. She is the perfect host - there if you need anything, but not intrusive. Nothing is too much trouble. The gite is as it appears in the photos with a downstairs well equipped kitchen and upstairs a cosy bedroom, sitting room and shower room. Everything was spotlessly clean, the bed was extremely comfortable with excellent quality linens and there was a plentiful supply of hot water for the shower. The WiFi signal is excellent. The provision of upstairs and downstairs kettles and mugs was greatly appreciated, for that all important early morning cup of tea! The outside seating area was a great place to enjoy breakfast when the sun came out for us. We stayed for 10 days and found it a great place to relax and really unwind. There are excellent walks locally and some lovely towns and villages in under an hour's drive. The famous attractions (Mont St Michel, D-day landing beaches etc) are within about a 90 min drive. The local is very rural and the only noises at night are natural ones. We really couldn't have asked for anything more. We would love to come back. The gite is about 5 min by car from the nearest village for the basics and about 15 min from St Hilaire for the full range of supermarkets, shops, some excellent restaurants (try L'Ardoise opposite the church), a Wednesday market and a tourist office.

Lovely friendly welcome Ian and Tracy couldn't do enough for us to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. The appartment was clean light and airy. Great value for money particularly with breakfast too. There were complementary drinks in the apartment which was a lovely touch and nice to enjoy a cup of tea after our long journey. A lovely little bar just a few steps from the apartment for drinks and pizza. We also enjoyed dinner at a very nice English style bar which was just a ten minutes drive which served lovely food and good live music. Definitely will visit Number 17 B&B again.

Celeste is the most welcoming, attentive, friendly host. She went above and beyond ensuring my family & I were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay, even removing a tic my 5 year old had picked up on our day trip when I was in panic mode! The house was beautiful, well equipped and comfortable. It had everything we needed to ensure our trip was straitforward. The surrounding areas are tranquil and perfect for a relaxing escape. The swimming pool was a huge hit with the children and grown ups alike, proving the perfect way to cool down at the end of the day! We will 100% be back!

    Loved this property. Extremely quiet location and perfect for us to visit family but also to use as a base for cycling round the area. Beautifully decorated and more modern than most places we’ve rented in France.
