We had a wonderful time at "The Wayside and Whiskey Barn" in Whitbeck. Our host Emiko was super efficient, professional and knowledgeable. She was so welcoming and friendly. There was also Doreen the lovely helper. We had great chats and laughs 😃 The place: Charming, so clean and impeccably maintained. I couldn't believe the attention to details such as the bedding and fluffy robes and slippers. The food. One word: delicious 😋 😜 😍 😀 Everything is sourced locally and cooked 🍳 fresh by Emiko. I can't wait to return hopefully next year. Look at the photos and honestly 😍 If you want a good time out of this world book ...If you appreciate Whiskey, well no better place to go.

We liked everything ❤️ comfortable sofa with lots of cushions, fantastic shower and absolutely equipped kitchen… everything what you can need and more, spare dogs bowls and towels, additional towels for us if we need it. Just like at home😍 lots of board games for children and families, soft carpet to even sit on it and walking barefoot. Hosts are absolutely fabulous, friendly and welcoming. Sue and Howard were our first hosts who welcomed us personally . They show us everything in and out. Just can’t recommend more… lovely place, lovely people, just perfect.

Stunning location. Peaceful, away from highways. so minumum noise. Out of season so roads in general quiet. Cottge had been furnished and equiped to a very high stanard. Even the bunk bed was really comfortable for a 63 year old, so not just aimed at young families. The perfect get away.

Great space. All nicely decorated and all rooms really spacious. The hot tub was obviously a plus! Definitely staying again when in the area. The outside parking was also really useful.

Selker view was amazing We booked a last minute weekend away I didn't really know what to expect But it was awesome even in late November The pod was clean and comfortable Fresh local eggs and bacon left for us at no cost Fire pit outside The brown cow up the road did us a good feed literally 10 minutes away Stunning views of the mountains out to the bay and to the isle of man Thank you

    Lovely staff, clean and comfortable. Annex was gorgeous and breakfast perfect - good quality and very well cooked. Barnie (temperamental Spitzoodle) was welcomed and loved his treats. Location is fabulous for exploring the western lakes combined with the coast, particularly good for people who like the quieter areas. Lovely walks direct from the door up to the fells and down to the costal path.

    We had a delightful stay at the Wayside. It is in a charming location. The attached Whiskey Barn was a great place for drinks before dinner. Food was great and cooked to order. Our room was lovely, large and spotlessly clean with thoughtful amenities.
