Cozy and clean room with bathroom, a very family atmosphere and a very nice and friendly owner. In the evening there is a homemade soup for everyone, in the morning a typical Icelandic breakfast with home-baked bread, homemade waffles and many other things. It is quintessential Iceland which is why so many artists have stayed there over the years. The main attraction is the heartfelt welcome from the host. His open table, hearty soup and fantastic waffles. The views from the hot tub are sensational. Accommodation is basic, comfortable and extremely clean. This isn’ a 5* hotel. As a coeliac vegetarian it is often hard to eat abroad, but the staff here catered to me exceptionally. I had a different meal all three nights and was made toast for breakfast. If you don't have my allergies, the breakfast buffet is definitely worth it. Lovely location, we had a car so could get out and about, but spent most evenings at the hotel as it's so nice.
