Idyllic place in the middle of nature. Well decorated and maintained. Kind, but not to invasive personnel. Highly recommended to visit Sinharaja forest reserve, but you can easily also spend a day or two only to chill in the hotel.

We spent two nights at JML Villa Foresta with the family and honestly, it was the best stay we’ve ever had. From the moment I booked, the owner was in touch and super helpful. Even though he lives abroad, he made sure everything was taken care of and that we were happy. You don’t often see that level of communication and care. Getting to the villa is an adventure in itself. It sits right on top of a mountain, and the hotel provides both the off-road vehicle and the skilled driver you’ll need to get there. Once you’re at the top, the views are absolutely jaw-dropping and the weather shifts constantly, so the scenery feels alive and always changing. The villa is just beautiful. A mix of stone and wood that feels both rustic and luxurious. Everything was clean, cozy, and comfortable. Outside there’s a pool with an incredible view, and inside you’ve got a pool table, big flat-screen TV, and a sound system you can crank up without worrying about disturbing anyone, since the villa sits on its own massive 25+ acre estate. Total privacy. RSpecial thanks to Ravi, the host, who looked after us with such professionalism and warmth. He made sure we were comfortable at every moment. And the food? Honestly next level. The owner had told me they serve more than what you pay for, but I didn’t realize just how true that was until we sat down. Every meal was generous, beautifully presented, and delicious. The dishes just kept coming until we couldn’t eat another bite. If you’re after breathtaking views, complete privacy, amazing food, and a team that genuinely cares about your experience, this is the place. We loved every minute and would come back in a heartbeat.

We really appreciated our time at Sunil’s place, the view was amazing and you are surrounded by jungle. The first night he took us on a night walk to look out for wildlife ! We had dinners, lunches and breakfasts with his family and every meal was different and so delicious ! We visited Sinharaja with Sunil, he is a famous bird guide in the area and we weren't disappointed by his eye for wildlife. He is incredible ! His knowledge and understanding of the bird sounds is crazy. We walked for about 14 kms and saw many lizards, snakes, birds, dragonflies, butterflies and monkeys. We shared a lovely time together, being connected with nature and wildlife. We really recommend this place for those who love wildlife. Thank you so much for our stay !

Beautiful position in the national park

The accommodation is located near Sinharaja Forest Reserve in a beautiful valley with farms, fields and a lot of animals. We could see peacocks, fireflies and many bird species just outside on our patio. You get a lot of privacy in your villa and a great view over the valley. The villa was perfectly clean and the bed was also very comfortable. The hosts take excellent care of you while you are there. The meals we got were perfect - real local Sri Lankan food. We also did a short hike with the owner into the forest reserve which was a fantastic experience and we saw a lot of wild animals and took a swim in the river next to a waterfall.

My sister and I loved our stay at Evergreen Villa! It’s the perfect place to explore Sinharaja Forest Reserve. The family and staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to assist. We used the villa as a base for our activities in the forest, which we booked directly through them. We did an evening/night walk—an experience we highly recommend—and two day-treks in the jungle to spot wildlife and admire waterfalls. Our guide, Mr. Ruan, was simply exceptional—extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive to our needs. Our room was spotless and spacious, with a breathtaking view of the river and forest, along with a lovely private patio—perfect for relaxing. We also enjoyed vegan meals prepared by the family at their restaurant. One of the highlights of our stay was spending time with the wild dogs roaming the property, especially a mother with her three playful pups—they truly added to the experience! After our morning excursion in the jungle, the owner kindly allowed us to do a late check-out and take a shower before leaving—something we truly appreciated. We highly recommend Evergreen Villa for its excellent location, warm hospitality, and unforgettable nature experiences!

Our stay at Sinharaja Forest Lodge was truly relaxing. The lodge is surrounded by lush tea plantations and beautiful greenery, making it a perfect escape into nature. The room was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious. We especially loved the morning views and peaceful atmosphere. The whole experience was amazing. From the warm welcom through the beautiful room with great view. And Hemel , the owner that is a gifted guide to the rainforest. So kind and nice and at the same time knowlagble and quick to spot every living thing. They are a young couple with a little girl that own and run this amazing g place. For us, it eas the high light of our Sri lankan adventure Thank you both!!

Plus, being only 100 meters from the Pitadeniya Entrance makes exploring the rainforest easy. From the moment we arrived, the staff’s warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The villa itself is cozy and designed for comfort, creating a stress-free and relaxing. A guided tour arranged by the villa took us deep into the rainforest, where we learned fascinating stories and insights about this breathtaking ecosystem. It was truly unforgettable. The food was another highlight; fresh, delicious, and full of local flavors. The villa is also exceptionally clean, and with no fixed check-in or check-out times, our stay felt flexible and stress-free. What makes this place truly special is its location. Surrounded by a tea estate, facing the rainforest, and right by the river, every view is stunning. Staying here felt like stepping into a dream.
