This place is incredible. The view over the rice fields is one of a kind. The rooms are big and clean, the pool is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Every evening the staff asks you what you want for breakfast. The breakfast is freshly prepared and so good.

We had an amazing time at Animals! We loved it here so much we doubled our stay because the place is just a dream. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in the "budget rooms" at first, which is just 10 seconds from the pool and dining area. Even though it's called a budget room, it's spacious & very well maintained and has a lovely garden, and the rooms have a large bathroom, a dressing and a terrace. The other days we spend in the double rooms in the main building which are like you're staying inside of a Pinterest moodboard. We got the privilege to meet the Swedish couple who owns the hotel & designed it into an absolute gem. They are just the best people, we talked for many hours & went surfing with them & learned so much about Swedish & Sri Lankan life during our talks. The breakfast included has so many options tot choose from and the coffees are actually the best we had in Sri Lanka. If you would be unfortunate that there is no room available in the hotel, do yourself a favour and come have lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed! Even though we travelled a lot and visited so much nice hotels & resorts, we never had the same experience like we had at Animals! The biggest thank you to Nalin, Samon, Anndala & Arvid for making us feel so welcome! ♥️

I loved it all! Comfortable beds that don’t squeak, the hosts were so friendly and opened us some coconuts. Super clean place and perfect for meditation. Great kitchen too!

The family is super friendly.They make me breakfast and dinner.they helped me with anything I needed.please do not hesitate to book this room .If you want to meet a Sri Lankan family that way is .I give 11 /10 . The breakfast and dinner was very delicious .The room very clean has A/C the internet very good too.The old Dutch Fort it's only a few mins walk .The turtle hatchery is as well very close . This is the place where you want to stay while visiting Sri Lanka. You spending your holiday in the history of this country. A spice traders house built in 1860 and completely renovated recently with lots of taste. The rooms, the living and dining areas, garden with the pool, everything is so beautiful and it feels it’s your own private home. Also breakfast and dinner was amazing and very tasty. The manager and all the staff are extremely helpful and super friendly. As it’s just a bit outside of Galle Fort, it’s super calm. But only a short stroll to reach the harbour with the local fisherman and the old town by foot. If not, a Tuk Tuk ride takes 5 minutes. Everything was just perfect.
