The hotel is a modern 7 storey structure with views over the north and west of the city. Built in a traditional style, it is a family run business located on a quiet lane west of the busy Thamel tourist area. We spent a week there, with no particular itinerary, just walking, browsing and eating at backstreet nepalese, indian and chinese restaurants (which were all good, the chinese in particular providing a wide choice of regional foods from Tianjin, Shanghai and Lang Zhou). We found it a perfect place to use as a base for shopping in the nearby market streets and for walking out across the city to the Monkey temple, Kathmandu and Patan Durbars. The breakfast was really good with a choice of cooked and continental, massala chai, proper espresso-machine Americano coffee and eggs to order. The owners, Mina and Dolakh, are friendly and attentive, the rooms are clean and spacious, the roof terrace was a delight.

It’s location is excellent, right in the middle of Thamel. I could easily book my trip to Pokhara and Salleri through the hostel. Pramod, the manage and other staff were nice and patient and happy to answer all questions.

Our stay at Oasis Kathmandu was simply perfect! From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of a family. The staff was incredibly friendly, always attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality made our experience truly special. The hotel was spotlessly clean, with comfortable and well-maintained rooms that provided a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. The restaurant was outstanding, offering delicious, perfectly prepared meals that exceeded our expectations every time. And the location? Absolutely ideal! Nestled close to the city center, the hotel is just a 15-minute walk to Durbar Square, and the route takes you right through a vibrant bazaar—the perfect chance to pick up unique gifts and souvenirs while soaking in the lively atmosphere of the Thamel quarter. This area is a dream for backpackers, with its charming streets, hidden gems, and rooftop restaurants offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountains. One of the highlights of our trip was a Himalayan exploration tour that the hotel staff arranged for us. The price was reasonable, and we spent a whole day hiking in the hills, getting closer to the majestic mountains we had longed to see. It was exactly what we were looking for, and we truly appreciated how effortlessly they helped make it happen. Everything about our stay was wonderful, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.     Stayed at the kailash boutique hotel for 5 nights , property was spotless and in an excellent location , room was very clean , bed was super comfortable. Staff were first class , extremely helpful and very friendly. The manager Dol couldn't have been more accommodating, I would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Kathmandu.

    Very nice New hotel, very clean, shower is great with a lot of pressure, comfortable beds, ideal location in Thamel area, quiet street, super nice staff doing all their best to serve you, very good breakfast buffet, amazing ratio price/quality! We also booked our trekking tour with Dol (the hotel manager) through Third Rock Adventures and I highly recommend them. They have a 99% satisfaction rate on Trip Advisor with 629 reviews to this date.

    This hotel is fantastic value for money. The service is excellent, particularly from Dev the manager who went above and beyond to look after us and make us feel at home. The rooms are very clean, the included breakfast is delicious and the location is great - close enough to walk to the thick of it, but far enough away for it to be quiet. If you’re looking for somewhere affordable and simple, but very comfortable, stay at Chhimeki!
