Richar, Lucrezia and Isabella are very lovely people and very generous hosts. Richar told us about the island and showed us around, Lucrezia’s cooking is truly wonderful and Isabella is a very nice girl, who would play cards with us in the evening. The rooms are very clean, there is a hot shower and it’s an easy walk from the port of Amantani. The island itself is so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect rest. At night the stars are magestic with Milky Way visible with naked eye. I would highly recommend staying at Richar’s place to experience the magic of the island in its authenticity. Also, from what I’ve read it is much better for the families who live on the island to book a stay directly with them rather than through an agency.

The room had an amazing view on the sunrise and the lake. The hosts were super helpful and they prepared us a very good dinner and breakfast. Would really recommend to spend a night in taquile and stay at Mario and Julia.

José Luis and Pilar are great hosts. We spent a wonderful night in their home on Amantani island. Their home is very nice and has a superb view over Titikaka lake. Pilar is an amazing cook and we had a chance to taste her delicious dishes. José Luis and Pilar, thank you very much for the pleasant stay. Valentin and his family where extremely welcoming. We had the best night of our holidays in Perù, the bed was so confortable. The little village of Llachon which can be reached with a little walk, is very cute and away from any touristic agitation. The food they serve is amazing too! To be short, don’t hesitate and stay at la Casa de Valentin, it’s perfect 👍🏻

The best thing about our stay were the hosts, kind, friendly, willing to have long conversations with us despite our average levels of Spanish! They went irbid their way to make us feel really comfortable, the whole family were fantastic, they would make sure that we were heading in the right direction by sending a family member with us part of the way when we went to walk to the Pacha Mama and Pacha Tata. Mari Luz even walked us to the harbour on the day of our departure.

The family is so nice ! It was a really immersion in the community and the family! We learned so much about the Taquile island, the community, the daily life. Food is great ! No tourists after 3pm so you have the island for you and have a little hike to discover the rest of the island.

After almost two months of traveling in Peru, this may be our favorite place to have stayed. We booked the room with a view over the lake, and it was beautiful to wake up to. We enjoyed all of our meals and were taken great care of. The bed is super comfortable as well!

One word - amazing! It was such a great experience to live with the family and to see how they live and they showed us their traditions.... Everybody was super nice, evening fiesta was interesting and the food was delicious!!
