This rural hotel looks like it has recently been totally renovated, so it adds an old palace charm to high standard modern amenities, like a design passage way between the main building/reception area and the building where the rooms are. The gardens are beautiful and very well kept - there is a rose garden, a hortensia's garden, a wall-garden and the gardens around the open air swimming pool. There is also a tennis court by the swimming pool, all very nicely done. The situation is very peaceful and quiet, overlooking the mountains and farms. The rooms are very spacious and some of them have a nice terrace with access to the gardens. The breakfast was really good, all with freshly made products from the region - cheese, ham, marmelade - and home made bread. We stayed happily for two nights and could have stayed longer to unwind! Bonus: the Mondego river walkways are a half hour drive away, a nice walking trail of 16kms.

The location is amazing, just next to the castle. The house was very confortable, warm and cozy. It had all facilities and amenities. The hosts were extremely helpful and kind, and presented us with gift box with wine, cheese, jam and cookies upon our arrival.

Everything was flawless, which is a rare experience. The staff were super efficient, and with this , they were nearly invisible, the indicator of quality is obvious. We loved the outdoor pool, the water was almost acceptably warm. The receptionist kindly gave us a room with the best terrace overlooking the valley, so we could enjoy our coffee walking right through the balcony door.

We loved our stay at TerraSense! Travelled with our 2 kids and stayed at the villa. It was super clean and well equipped. The views to the mountains are incredible. The little ceiling on the upper floor allowing to see the stars at nights made our kids go crazy with joy. The host treated us so well and catered for all our needs, including a dinner in because my husband wasn’t feeling too well. Breakfast was also delicious. We saw the farm animals shortly before leaving and wondered how nice it must be during summer time (we went during peak winter). Would recommend it to anyone looking to rest and disconnect in the middle of nature.

    Breakfast was well above average for hotels in Portugal. The location and aspect was one of the best features. I am sorry we could not stay longer. Given the quality, I though the value was quite good.

    The originality of the two older buildings. There was a good choice of breakfast. The location was peaceful, and there were a couple of restaurants nearby for dinner. The room was furnished beautifully and really clean.
