Absolutely loved the location. Every single little detail was thought through, everything that you could possibly need was available throughout all the rooms. Cleanliness was impeccable, nothing to complain about. The beds were extremely comfortable and we liked the touch of having different pillows for different preferences. The house was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Loved the pool table. Perfect little piece of heaven. Perfect to seek some peace and quiet. Friendly hosts and easy check in. Great communication.

What a beautiful place! It was absolutely fantastic staying up in the walled village of Marvao. Very nice, clean, comfortable accommodation and we enjoyed the view from our room. There is parking very close. Breakfast was very good and included scrambled eggs as well as the continental. The owner is very hands on and always making sure that your needs are met. The restaurant where you have breakfast is across the street and has very good views as well. The streets are very narrow and quaint. It is so easy to walk around and up to the castle. This is a fantastic, intact castle with views going as far as Spain. I would definitely go back to Marvao. Give yourself at least 2 days so that you can explore and then just relax and enjoy the lovely gardens below the castle.

We loved this fascinating historic building, which had features in abundance, and a mix of historic antiquities and modern comfortable accommodation. Our hostess, Sylvia was gracious, generous, and full of knowledge about the building and the area. She and her husband were eager to please us. We loved the breakfast too!!! We recommend this as an ideal place to stay, the longer the better. Come on Australians, and others, expand your horizons! And live it up in this magnificent place.

    Our hosts Joaquim and Maria were incredibly attentive and hospitable. Our room was exactly as promised and was ideal for our stay. Parking is right outside. The bed was super comfortable and there was zero noise at night. What a fabulous location - a privilege to stay inside the village walls. You must stay here.

    The room is very clean and the location is amazing. We normally stay here when visiting Marvao as it is good value for money. It’s not luxury and the fixture and fittings could be nicer but you get what you pay for. It’s comfortable and the staff is very friendly. We will come back in the future.

    The location is wonderful, very much at the centre of Marvao and everything is easily accessible. The view from the window is lovely and wide over the landscape. The host met us at the door, he was extremely efficient, we checked in in minutes, getting in and out is very easy and a good restaurant is just across the way. The room was very clean and the small double bed was comfortable, even though our feet hung over the end.
