What an absolute hidden gem of a place. From the minute we arrived we were welcomed and made to feel right at home. Guðrún Björg is the sort of host that others simply dream of being. Every single detail has been thought out, she is a warm wealth of information about the area, and someone who truly cares about making your stay and experience as magical as it could be. The meals we enjoyed were also exceptional - lamb sourced from the property, and cod caught by her sons and husband, and freshly made waffles in the morning - what more could you ask for? This place is worth every penny and the view from our cottage was just tops. Go - stay here - relax - enjoy!

The guesthouse is situated in a beautiful area which has relatively few choices for accommodation. The hut we stayed in was fine. There is a shared kitchen with a seating area.
Good location on edge of Stykkisholmur with nice distant views. Easy to find. Parking close to cabin. The small cabin was good for two adults - our friends were in the one next door. Well equipped and comfortable. Everything was quite new. We decided not to sleep in the upper sleeping area as the bathroom was on ground floor (access is via ladder not stairs). So we used the sofa bed. This was very easy to set up and the bedding was stored inside. It was very comfortable.
The location was fabulous and the cabin was really warm all night. Mattress was comfortable as well!
The view was sensational. The chalet was excellent
Coolest private location! The frozen lake and the view from the cabin were astonishing 😍 truly suggested!
Modern cabin with an amazing view and very friendly host.
A beautiful cabin and a lovely little village.
The cabin was beautifully located, with a view over the bay towards Kirkjufell. The cabin was a lovely studio layout and had everything we needed to relax and watch the world go by. We came in winter and there were continual snow showers coming over, but the cabin stayed nicely warm throughout. The owners were very helpful and accommodating when we arrived early on our first day.
Dalahyttur is really "in the middle of nowhere", reached after 6 km via a gravel road. The area around the huts looks a bit unkempt, but the cabin was clean, even if very cramped. There is simply no room for suitcases, at least in the standard cabins - and we couldn't leave our suitcases in the car. In addition, the hot water is limited in its availability by a boiler, so that two people do not always manage with the quantity
