    Illmitz is a great location for visiting the Neusiedler See...

    Illmitz is a great location for visiting the Neusiedler See National Park. It has a good choice of restaurants; our hotel (Hotel Post) did evening meals Thu-Sun, so we had a chance to try other restaurants on oher evenings (Heuriger Holzhammer Pusztascheune Illmitz, Antonios Hof). Before leaving we used the web site https://www.birdingplaces.eu/ which had good information on places to visit and what we might expect to see. The hotel itself also had a good booklet on local places to visit and wildlife and we bought an English language version. There is also a good National Park Information Centre.

    Amazing hotel. I think people do not realise how nice that area of Austria is. Breakfast was amazing and made out of food from the local area. I liked the grape juice that was made by the hotel. Room was big and clean the shower was amazing. I think is the first one that I've seen that they really put thought into it. Quiet, free parking. In the summer time I believe it is a wonderful place. Ahhh....and I shouldn't forget about the wine. That is a wine area for Austria.

    The accommodation is in a beautiful, quiet courtyard where you can also sit and relax. The rooms have everything you need, everything is clean and comfortable, there's a well-equipped kitchenette, and it's close to all corners of Illmitz. There's an option to store bikes in the garage. The owner, Sabine, is a very nice person, and communication with her was smooth. We will definitely be happy to return here, and thank you once again!

    Illmitz is a great location for watching wildlife in the Austrian Neusiedler See National Park, and Hotel Post made for a very enjoyable base at which to stay. The staff were all very friendly and took the time to talk to us, what our interests were and to get to know us as people. It was a very relaxed area and it was nice to be able to eat in the bar alongside local people. Evening meals were very good traditional fare.

    Everything was great - friendlyness of the owners, location a few blocks from Illmitz main square, breakfast with plenty of choice, vale for money just top! Would go back anytime!
