One night is certainly not enough time to stay, this is a real wild luxury tent, you can sleep at night with the moon and stars, the tent outside the cute wallabies and fantastic olive trees

Over the years I've noticed Bruny island is getting more...

Over the years I've noticed Bruny island is getting more popular and busier. I recommend getting on the car ferry at Kettering early as queues form after 9am. This also maximizes your time on the island if you only going for a couple of days. Try to time your visit to the popular sites such as the Truganini lookout when the day trip busses aren't there. Allow extra time when touring South Bruny as there are lots of stops to view and take photographs along the way. If eating out such as the Alonnah pub or Mari Bruny (cafe) book ahead as tour groups will fill them.

It was a quiet and secluded place.

It was a quiet and secluded place. We were there in late February, so outside of school holidays; I would guess that it would be busier in peak holiday season. We enjoyed the quiet and natural beauty. The general store had a much better range of food than I had expected; you didn’t have to live off tinned baked beans!

Beautiful pristine surroundings.

Beautiful pristine surroundings. I would advise taking you own food supplies as it there is very little to choose from places to eat, particularly in winter/off season. What we did have was lovely. Driving the roads across the island at night is a bit nerve racking to go out for dinner, a lot of windy roads and wildlife. Lovely to see but I would hate to his anything.

It's in a great location with easy access to lots of activities. We stayed in a villa and there was plenty of room for the both of us plus the advantage of having a bedroom so as not to disturb the late sleeper. Hot shower with good pressure, comfortable bed with the beach just across the street. We saw white wallabies less than a km down the road from here. We stayed 2 nights but wished we would've stayed more. Its a short drive to where they conduct boat tours from and the Mavista rainforest walk was beautiful with great looks at Pink Robin. Its a short drive to the chocolate shop and to The Neck for penguin and shearwater viewing in the evening.

Bruny island is just beautiful.

Bruny island is just beautiful. I spent 3 nights at Adventure Bay and loved it. There is the Fluted Cape walk which I recommend. The General Store (it's the only one on the island) is well supplied with all necessities and some luxuries. I recommend exploring the island and visiting the Honey store and Inala Jurassic Park. Drive slowly, too many tourists drive far too fast and as a result there is too much roadkill mainly pademelons. Pademelons are sweet, slow small wallabies, they don't deserve to die. Take your time and enjoy the experience.

Beautiful place to base yourself when exploring Bruny Island. Central to many key activities and facilities. A beautiful outlook across the bay towards the Tasman Peninsula. Key essentials like groceries and petrol available. Also near the Pennicott boat cruise restaurant and other places to eat out. Pennicott boat trip is a must. We also drove to the Bruny Hotel, which is less than 20 minutes away, for meals. Fluted Cape walk was well signposted once we found the start. Other short walks and lookouts nearby. White wallabies.

We really enjoyed our stay here on Bruny Island. The location is perfect, just a two minute walk to the beach at Adventure Bay. The bed was super comfortable and the linen was high end so we had the best sleep! Jo was a great host and the check in/out process was easy. The hand delivered breakfast each morning with muesli and yoghurt & warmed turkish bread along with the complimentary bottle of wine were greatly appreciated. We would highly recommend a visit to Get Shucked if you like oysters, the best we’ve ever had!

The self contained cabin at Captain Cook caravan Park was absolutely faultless!! Clean , cosy, spacious, great location. There was not a thing missing, everything you needed and more was here. Bed was comfortable. I've been to all sorts of accommodation all over Australia, ritzy hotels to tent's in the outback, and this place was one of the best places I've stayed. Even flash motels have something your not happy about, but this place was faultless. Highly recommend!!

A really great location at Adventure Bay. Across the road from the beach - 100m walk. Off street parking (open air). BBQ. Outdoor table etc. Three bedrooms and an upstairs open area with sofa bed. Two bathrooms. Full kitchen (induction cook top not my favourite). Clean and comfortable. AC if needed. Laundry facilities.

970 is located on the hill directly overlooking Adventure Bay, we enjoyed the beautiful view of the beach and watching colorful sun sets across the water. The property was very comfortable, neat, clean, well appointed and the perfect place to spend the weekend with our NZ visitors.
