Having visited Ayers Rock 40 years ago the entire handling of mass tourism has dramatically altered today's experience. This area is no longer affordable/accessible for the average Joe - a meal for four at the main restaurant is over $250! Tours are run by a large organization and cost $$$ Because of the excessive heat, you are really limited to early morning or late afternoon outdoor excursions and a trip to Kings Canyon (which is a real must) is also expensive and requires at least a day or two.Guest review byAndrewAustralia - 10

Uluru and the Red Centre have to be seen to be believed. Yulara resort is extremely well set up to help visitors make the most of their time. It is a unique and special location ..and a truly beautiful one. It was our first experience of the red centre and I was struck by the beauty of the landscape particularly in the soft light of dawn and sunset and the stillness …and a big night sky I hadn’t ever experienced before. Great place to experience, to see Uluru and walk around it and learn about its importance to the traditional owners. Went out to the Olga’s and saw the sunrise over Uluru, it was spectacular. We had perfect weather had just rained so left us with some lovely green scenery. Weather was perfect. A little hassle with flies so need a net for face.
